[Anime] Naruto

The "rip-offs" weren't rip-offs, they were homages. Seriously. The animation teams who worked on the Neji/Naruto fight either worked on the Cowboy Bebop movie or referenced it, ala Tarantino. Same with Sasuke's poses, which come from some famous martial arts flick.

It's pretty common in film and animation and even writing. Are there rip-offs? Definitely, but more stuff this blatant is an homage.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Alright Fans, Here's the deal

- Asuma is Sarutobi's son
- The Akatsuki Duo killed the Monk (who i thought would show some kind of DBZ-ish style of fighting).
- The Return of Zetsu-- The Nobody seeing that he hasn't shown his power yet (same with Tobi)
- Kakashi's explanation of the new Technique.

My only problem here is , ONCE AGAIN, the lack of character backgrounds. Why the hell is kishimoto waiting so long just to reveal something that could've been shot out in the episode/chapter where the funeral was held?

In some way, i can see that Asuma DOES look like Sarutobi. But other than that, what kind of moves does Asuma really have? Thats what im interested in. I still think of him as some kind of Segal-Norris-Van Dame'ish clone. He is very boring. Same goes with Kurenai.

As for the Monk, I was expecting more out of him but oh well.

Hidan looks like he lays too much on the PIFF lol. Constantly on the ground,etc.

That's all i can say about this chapter. I'll be glad if Kishimoto makes a new arc about CHARACTER BACKGROUNDS though I think that could've been done between Kakashi Gaiden and the Akatsuki arc =/.

See, now the manga's getting fucking interesting again. For the longest time it just seemed to be going nowhere. Although the recent Orochimaru battle was cool (though short as hell), I think the highlights for Arc 2 were Sasori and Deidara. Those two had some of the most memorable fights in the series so far.

YES, Sasori took forever to die, but that's what made it so fucking cool. No matter what Sakura and Chiyo did, the dude had something else to fall back on. Sasori's supposed to be really strong and he didn't fail to demonstrate that, especially since the gap between levels was so high. Sakura was a good fighter and had a high-jounin (or beyond?) old lady helping her out, but they were still outclassed. My only worry is that by the time the characters fight the other members of Akatsuki, the heroes would have gotten strong enough to make the fights less dynamic. Hopefully Kishimoto will do something unexpected, though he's losing his touch.

Gaara versus Deidara was short, but nevertheless awesome. Seeing Gaara take control over an entire desert to attack one guy wasn't anything that I expected to see, especially so soon into the new arc.

I'm liking the new characters, but I fear they're just going to be pushed to the side like the original rookie nine. However, with this new character development involving Asuma, we'll probably see more of the rest.

So, I can finally see delicious Sasori ackshun? This had better be true, as the fillers were perhaps the biggest load of crap I'd ever laid eyes on.

I'm getting pretty close to just giving up on Naruto and focusing on Bleach. This is getting out of hand.

Oh, I meant that I'd go back to the Bleach manga. I'd been barely keeping up and just focusing on Naruto for the last couple of months, but barely anything of interest has happened.

I agree chato, Bleach isn't really going anywhere new either. We're about to enter another Rescue ____ Arc in the manga and the anime's still in filler hell (why, I have no idea). I just find the characters a whole lot more interesting than the almost exclusive group of characters Kishimoto seems to be choking us with lately.

I almost feel like going back and re-reading Death Note. I tried getting into Negima but I can only handle so much fan-service in a single chapter. This is coming from a guy who read Tenjou Tenge religiously.

What I meant was that they wasted _2_ pages of Sakura crying over Sasuke bullshit. Kishi gave her nonsense super powers, he should at least make her act more mature. Asuma was looking at some plants, they wasted an entire page on Kurenai staring like a drone and Izumo and Kotetsu didn't even TALK. What the hell. Yamato's personality still isn't established, he just makes stupid faces and acts different in front of Kakashi every 5 seconds.

Also, the art took a nosedive again. I don't mind mediocre art if there's enough to see, but this was just filler + bad art and Kishi is really pushing the Sasuke nonsense too far. It should be all about Akatsuki now in this arc, fuck Sasuke.

Not sarcasm. I can't stand training sessions in manga, especially if they last more than a few chapters. In this case, we're watching Naruto do something totally boring while every other character is doing something EQUALLY boring.

That wasn't even a power-up. That was basically some kind of Curse Seal or Bloodline Limit or jutsu. In short: we dunno wtf it was, but it didn't make him more powerful in the DBZ or shonen sense.

Anyway, this chapter was good. I bucked down and downloaded it after seeing a spoiler image on 4chan. Looking forward to the next, but I think I'll still wait for somebody to spoil it for me again. Naruto has yet to truly win me back as a fan.

Chapter was pretty cool. I liked that crow jutsu that jounin guy used. For a moment I thought it was one of Shikamaru's jutsu.

I'm eager to see the Akatsuki Leader, but I'm hoping the one talking to the others is the final member to be revealed. I'd rather get to know these characters early on instead of having them show up at certain parts of the plot only to die after a fight.

The manga still hasn't drawn me back in yet, but if they focus more on the characters other than Sakura, Naruto, Sasuke and Sai, I'll become a fan again. For now, Bleach and Desu Note.

That's Ebisu. The guy who showed up in this chapter was Aoba, some dude who barged in to Kakashi's room back in the Rescue Sasuke arc about Itachi's whereabouts.

Honestly...I had no idea who he was until I read this on 4chan, of all places.

I have no clue. It's funny, because Kubo has a way of providing SOME kind of pay off every chapter. It's still too early to tell whether or not the current arc is going to be Soul Society Redux, but at the very least he's keeping things interesting.

Kishimoto, on the other hand, feeds us a little bit of grain almost EVERY chapter. It gets kind of old fast.

It's a shame, really. Naruto should be stealing the spotlight, since he's the main fucking character, but he's just so BORING compared to the awesomeness of (some of) the supporting cast. Now all we need is Hinata time and I'll be satisfied.

Also, good riddance to trash Akatsuki guy. He was by far the most boring of the batch so far.

Okay, so I'm into Naruto again. This new series completely revived my interest in the anime, as they've hooked me with some awesome animation (the opening with Sasuke was, for all it's simplicity, just as good as the Rock Lee/Gaara fight). The music is a vast improvement over the stuff from the original series, eliminating that somewhat of an embarassing feeling I had watching a series with traditional Japanese flutes and manly men going "HUNGH. SAIYA...GO" and shit like that. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Akatsuki fights to come. Sasori's fight has been a favorite of mine in the manga, so I'm hoping it translates well.

They'll probably use the Kakashi Gaiden arc some time before or after Tobi is introduced. A sort of break before the next big arc as well as the introduction to Sai. The Gaiden could be used to wedge another gap between the manga and the anime, so as to prevent any more unnecessary fillers again.

That was pretty shocking in the manga, too. Considering the huge brawl that happens before that scene with another bad guy, I figured Naruto would refuse to let the Kyuubi out again and that'd be the end of the scene. Instead we get Sasuke outta nowhere with the ability to seemingly nullify the Kyuubi.

Part Two has it's up and downs and, for a while, I was completely turned off by the series as a whole due to Kishimoto's poor storytelling. Recent chapters involving Shikamaru kind of redeemed the series, but it seems he's taking a back seat again.

The series started off nicely, but goddamn can they drag shit out. It shouldn't take that long to show that Naruto and Sakura have advanced. Do we really need a thousand and one flashbacks showing how much they sucked when they were children?

Then again, the show's demographic is pretty young, so I guess I'm splitting hairs on a bald head. As for the Akatsuki, Deidara himself never really fights seriously for all two or three fights he's shown. He's interesting because his tactics are pretty thought-out, as opposed to 'my jutsu's bigger than yours,' which Naruto seems to have devolved into.

His partner, Sasori, is much more impressive, but you won't be seeing much of his stuff for at least fifteen-twenty episodes.

This week's chapter is up, and though I gave up on Naruto, the spoiler pics posted on 4chan got me interested to at least check it out. If it weren't for everything else that pisses me off about Naruto, I'd become a dedicated reader again. The plot twist at the end was somewhat unexpected, but undeniably awesome. Sad, though, that the only redeeming qualities left in Naruto are the Akatsuki and Sasuke's HAX.

Other than that, how's the animation going for the Sasori fight? I heard it's been dull-to-mediocre at best, which is a shame considering it's my favorite fight in Part 2.
