I don't think there was any other way for Sakura to defeat Sasori. Chiyo's involvement in the fight was a necessary plot device, as she knew most of Sasori's tricks whereas Sakura only had the strength, will, and medical know-how to overcome his poisons. Sure Sakura might have been able to smash Hiroku (the first puppet), but she would've been poisoned and injured without Chiyo's help.

Plus, this was a frickin' Akatsuki she was fighting. Sasori was a high-jounin, borderline kage at best (or higher, considering he killed a kazekage). A chuunin-level Sakura wouldn't be enough to take him on alone.

There are zero good filler episodes. Even with Hinata as the featured heroine, all of the filler is even more worthless than my sex drive. Save your hard drive space and your time and wait for various anime boards, this one thread included, to explode like children in Iraq when Naruto Part 2 hits the airwaves.

Hinata's new move was a stationary bug spray. She moves her hands really fast and forms a dome comprised of chakra lasers. I wasn't very impressed, especially since, as far as we know, it's not a canon-move.

I dunno. There was all this build-up and the move was really pretty disappointing to me.

If Sakura ends up with Naruto it'd be horribly cliche and retarded.

Naruto won't end up with anybody. He'll become 'hokage' in spirit alone and die for the greater good. Or he'll just leave forever. Hinata will end up with Kiba (eugh) and Sakura will have Ino.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I'd personally like to see Hinata, a hand-to-hand fighter, use something other than chakra bug spray. I realize Naruto is a shounen manga, but I'm getting tired of the only characters doing any true fighting having dicks (Sakura excluded, she redeemed herself in Part 2).

Hopefully after the current arc in the manga, we'll get to see the other female characters having actually developed in more than just breast size.

I'm pleased with the way 306 turned out. After the lackluster garbage Kishimoto's been feeding us recently, this chapter was almost came too late.

I'm digging Sasuke's new threads. Some of the modern-ish clothing he and the other genin wore pre-timeskip was distracting and didn't seem like it fit with the rest of the ninja in the series. I mean they were kinda cool, but really. Who wears an orange jumpsuit into battle. Why does Sasuke have arm warmers. Granted if they were wearing ordinary, traditional ninja clothing I probably wouldn't have liked this series as much as I do.

Sasuke's new outfit is kinda bishonen-esque, with the bare chest and all. I imagine the gi's loose like that for Curse Seal 2. Makes sense, since last time his big demon-hand wings made nice, big holes in his shirt.

There's a remix of Orochimaru's theme that I heard during the Sound Five arc, minus the female chanting. I don't think that ever made the cut on the third OST, and somehow I don't think it'll make the fourth. I thought it was pretty neat, but was more than likely just a quick mix for certain scenes.

Everybody had a problem with the five pages of silence in 306. I can see why it would irritate some, but come on. It was simply to build up the drama. My only real complaint is that it took six chapters for anything remotely interesting to occur.

Manga Chapter 307

Naruto's "calm" posture is probably just a mix of frustration and confidence in his ability. He was probably able to keep up with Sasuke's speed, even though the boy seems to be at a level equal to or beyond Yamato's (or hell, Kakashi's, but that's just an extra liberty I'm taking with speculating).

As much as I'd like to see a fight take place, Naruto only has a little bit of chakra left. I see Orochimaru interrupting this little chat soon.

Yeah, we haven't seen Sai do much of anything. It's about time for him to fight for real (even if he IS hard to look at). Kishimoto really should've just made him a girl.

I think you're forgetting that this is A SHONEN ANIME. Not only is Kishimoto a huge Dragonball fan, the series is simply stuck in the shonen genre. That's what it is. Bleach happens to be a shonen anime/manga as well.

Because of the genre, it's very easy to tell how characters will grow and where a plot may go. Dragonball and it's sequels practically made the genre and it's cliches. Fortunately some shonen manga manage to break out of it's mold and do something refreshing or unexpected.

When watching Naruto, you kind of have to keep this in mind. If you don't, the show and the manga will suck for more than poor storytelling or animation in recent chapters/episodes. The series is definitely in a slump now, but I wouldn't say that it's going to last for long.

A lot of people seem to think that Sasuke's recent "training" is stupid and makes him a far weaker person and character than before (nobody really here, but from what I've seen on other forums). What they seem to forget is that:

Sasuke (possibly) being on drugs is probably only because he has a short amount of time to kill Itachi. Orochimaru is supposed to take his body over in six months (right?), afterall. He's probably doing whatever he can to become stronger as fast as possible.
