Looking for a good Digital Camera

I'm currently shopping around for a digital camera to replace my old 2.0 megapixel Kodak, using my birthday money. I'm looking for a high quality yet afordable brand, featuring most or all of the following features.

6 or 7 megapixels

able to edit picture when stored in camera (brightness, red eye correction, etc)

quick camera speed (I had to wait a good 10 seconds between each shot with my old kodak)

Lengthy optical zoom

I've seen a few deals in cheapassgamer, most notably this one.

http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/...82E16830120179

The deal had a free 1GB Scandisk card included, but it isn't listed anymore, so I guess the deal is over. I'm still considering buying it, but I'd like to read a few more opinions and deals before I make a final purchase.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It's not a requirement, but it would be nice. I'm told the Canon deal is still offering the 1GB card, so I'll probably purchase it tonight.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

My Kodak came with an easyshare dock that recharges the batteries as well as let me transfer pictures. I don't suppose it's compatible with this Canon?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'd have to buy a dock that recharges the batteries though, right? I'll get it of course, but I'll have to look around for the best deal.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Also, I purchaed the Canon with free SD card included. I should get it in around 3-4 days. Can't wait.

I was speaking idiomatically.
