Definetely Albedo. He became my biggest motivation to finish Xenosaga Episode I (and II). Anyone causing harm to children is bad enough, but what HE did was far worse. And any attempts to add sympathy for him in EPII didn't work for me whatsoever. The asshole had it coming, and I hope to get a second chance to give him his comupance in EPIII.

And of course Kefka from FFVI. The bastard pretty much laughs in your face throughout the game while not getting any punishment in return. It felt like a cheat after you beat him. No final death wail or anything.

Also, I think this topic might be better in General Gaming, since I can recall a few non-RPG villains who deserved equal contempt (MGS3's Volgin. I cheered out loud when he finally got what was coming to him).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'll third Algus, though at least in his case you get to exact revenge immediately after he performs his heinous act.

Another bastard who I couldn't wait to get revenge on was Krelian (Xenogears). This guy pretty much screws every single living being in the planet, and constantly toys with you as he continues to succeed in his goals. The worst thing is you never really get a chance to get even with him, as in the last second of the game he reaches an epithamy and begs forgiveness. And stupidly, the characters grant it.

At least you got even with Shakahn, who also acted like an untouchable slimeball most of the game. Plus, the dialogue from Bart after beating him gave you the feeling that he really enjoyed getting his revenge (and deservedly so).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The thing is Miang wasn't really human to begin with. In the end she was merely an extension of her own creator (Deus). Krelian on the other hand was born a human, and made his own decision to forsake (save?) humanity.

Quote:
The dialog between Algus and Miluda is great. Algus says it's the will of heaven that commoners should be born animals to be used by nobles. Miluda says that God would never say such a thing and Algus responds: "Animals have no god!".
Hmm, I don't remember that line. Was this during the fight with Miluda?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

All this Luca Blight talk makes me wish I played Suikoden II. I'm still hoping for a US port of the PSP version (shut up Casaubon). I hear the PS1 version had a very shitty translation.

On the subject of FFVII, I could name plenty of asswipes who had it coming, besides Sephiroth. Number one on the list was Hojo. When you think about it, all the misery surrounding Cloud, the other characters, and even the whole world is purely his doing. He sacrificed his own wife and child in the pursuit of science, and created the monster Sephiroth by doing so. Heck, even after making Sephiroth he still manages to screw with Cloud's life. If he didn't experiment on Cloud after the Nibelheim incident, he probably would have enjoyed a quiet life with Tifa shortly after beating Seph. Sephiroth gets all the attention, but Hojo was the real monster here.

I also nominate Scarlett, who was basically a bitch the entire game, laughing it up while performing her heinous acts (like burning Barret's village and taking his hand). She also got very despicable (and a bit creepy) with her sadistic infatuation with trying to kill Tifa later in the game. I don't know what beef she had, but Scarlett wanted that girl DEAD.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

True, but then everyone on that planet is spawned from the Deus system anyways. Abel was the only exception.
Not just Abel; Anyone who was decended from Abel as well.

Luca was brutish and also a sucker for reasons known by those who have played the game. Plus proclaiming himself "the true face of evil" in his final moments was a bit much.
Ha ha ha, now I really have to play this game. In the end Luca is just a normal human right? Guys like him are the most despicable; being a normal human, all it would take is a good sword to the neck, but because he's as crafty as he is crazy, you can never get a good enough chance.

Is he the main bad guy in Suikoden II by the way? In any case, I hope FFXII has a bunch of villains like Algus and Luca. Enough with the superpowerful overlords, I want some despicable humans to hate again.

Quote:
Who do I think is the most twisted? Kefka Palazzo, of course. He wanted to destroy hope itself.
Hope? The psycho wanted to create a void of nonexistence. He didn't want anything to remain. Of course this probably meant himself, but he was far too gone at this point to care about his own safety.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Pope Zeras in Grandia 2...only because I hate evil popes in video games.
I know he was mentioned already, but Bishop Stone must be noted again (Xenogears). You read that bit of dialogue about what the priests like to do with the orphaned children right? I read a fanfic way back that hinted that Stone was among those priests, and when he took Emeralda captive....

note: no, it wasn't one of THOSE fanfics. It was a standard one that only implied the scenario to invoke drama.

I always considered how that might have happened. That, coupled with what he did to Billy's mother, made Stone my number 2 most hated XG villain after Krelian.

Don't you think "destroying hope" is a bit much as well?
Non-existence=no hope, or much of anything else for that matter.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Heh, sounds just like FFT, with the humans putting up more of a fight than any of the monsters.

What I'm real curious is what the main characters say in retaliation to Luca. Part of the fun when getting back at a villain is watching the dialogue of your character when he's getting sweet revenge (Delita vs Algus for example). Did Luca screw over any of the main leads, and do they exclaim their anger toward him? The battle of words is just as entertaining as the battle of blades.
