Yeah, it's a good idea to always refresh your browser after you link any images. Normally that will tell you straight away if they are displayed correctly or not.
But yeah, pretty pics. Also hoping for something truly outrageous tonight, like a CG Raiden appearing and slashing the $599 tag into $499. :/ don't stop now, slash it again! Here are two photoshopped pics from GAF that can be used to rate whether Sony's conference becomes a success or a dud. ![]() ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Extremely hi-res videos found in, of all places, an X-Box forum.

The keynote was the worst conference yet this year. Basically GAF summed it best as KK "daydreaming." Sure, it all sounds neat, but until any of it gets implemented into actual games, it's just daydreaming, as mentioned before.
However, as if in retaliation to Sprout's impending entry on how "Sony is doomed!", all these nifty trailers and hi res pics started emerging. AND, it sounds like Sony is having another conference in less than an hour. Shane and Che of EGM/1up told GAF that there were some megaton announcements coming. Let's see if their claims prove true after all. Things must be looking up. For one thing, the newest Sonic game actually looks GOOD. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?...31403669774265 EDIT: Actually, it seems what played earlier wasn't even the conference, but a simple keynote. The conference, in which more than a couple of insiders promise "surprise announcements" will start in a couple of hours. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Maybe the inclusion of Dreams Come True's ending theme is a sign that Sega is finally returning Sonic to his original form; the non-sucking kind.
Someone make a gif of Sonic breaking the building windows as he runs. That was sweet. And it's stated but not exactly confirmed that Yoichi Wada of SE will be attending Sony's conference. If this proves true, than there's a 100% chance we'll be getting something good.

White Knight is downloading now with 35 minutes left, but the game looks absolutely astounding based on those screens alone.
I wish I could get the exact time one when the "real" conference is starting. I can stay up an extra hour, but no more. My hopes were dashed with that keynote, but they're quickly rising up again. If Wada at least delivers during the conference, then there will be no more doubts left in my mind that the PS3 will have a bright future ahead. Most amazing jew boots |
![]() I'm willing to settle for the $500 model myself, but one question would clinch it for me; will you be able to attach any HD you want? If that was the case, then I could easily wait until Office Max runs one of their usual specials and purchase a 100GB Maxtor for just 20 bucks. And I have an ethernet adaptor for my PS2, so I don't require the built-in wifi either. Also, I checked with my Gamestop yesterday, and they claim that PS3/Wii preorders should start in early October, as Southjag mentioned before. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It's very clear at this point that the console war between Nintendo and Sony is going to be one of Form vs Function. Nintendo will delight with quirky games that will make use of the remote, while Sony will astonish with visuals that truly replicate the kind of CG imagery commonplace in movies. It's a good thing we can enjoy the best of both worlds. It's the dawning of a brave new world. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Just finished watching the trailer, and boy did it live up to the hype. I like how it lets you know from the start that everything is in-game footage, without any camera editing or other manipulations (sorry, Kojima). Well, the last scene with the hero transforming was likely manipulated to give the trailer a dramatic ending, but I digress.
The only thing I wish for in the final version is blood and scratch details when characters get hit. Then it will truly be impossible to tell the difference between this and pre-rendered CG. Square no longer has the best looking RPG for PS3 at the moment. Of course I'll be happy to have them prove me wrong with a new FFXIII trailer. Most amazing jew boots |
And Lost Odyssey was decent, but didn't carry over the transition from FMV to realtime very well. The worst part was watching the ingame battles, where the main guy slashes at thin air instead of the enemy, followed by numbers indicating damage. Going for that classic RPG feel? Nope, just laziness. Well I'm out for the night. Keep the thread updated, guys, I hope to wake up to even more good news. Most amazing jew boots |
Doesn't look like I've missed much so far. Any word when we'll be getting anymore news? The show runs until tommorow, right?

I'm still hoping for some more surprise announcements. White Knight Story alone was good enough to make a believer of most people, now imagine two or three more titles announced with similar production values. And to think it's just a first generation game. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Gamespot has a live feed of the TGS showfloor. The only problem is only the first 5 minutes are free.
http://www.gamespot.com/pages/event_...=tgs2006&res=1 First details are that Sony is going to continue giving information leading up to the NA release of the PS3. Also some Lair footage was shown that was said to be "incredible". FELIPE NO |
A look at the photo and web browser.
http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/6358 The 3D slideshow effect for the pictures and the Firefox-style browser are very nice. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I use a wireless ethernet adaptor from Linksys, so unless Wifi is supposed to be faster or something, then that'll do just fine.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
In that case, I have no reason to replace my ethernet adaptor, which still works fine for PS2.
And again, you can get a HD with far more space for far less the price, if you wait for a rebate special. Maxtor brand 120GB for $20 is the norm. In fact, perhaps you can use some spare PC HDs and transfer stuff to the PS3. Maybe someone will even come up with the PS3 equivalent of HD Loader, at least for PS2 games. As for the card reader, I haven't brushed up on what card slots the 60GB version has over the 20GB, but I did read that they'll release peripherals for the missing slots anyway, and that shouldn't cost more than $20-30. So in total, you only need to spend around $40-$50 to get what's missing from the 20GB system, assuming you don't have any spare HDs lying around. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Not if you make sure to reserve the 20gb model early.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

$60 isn't that big a deal for me, since I'm usually selective with my game purchases anyway. If it guarantees that all games will have widescreen, 1080p, and an online mode, then I'd say it's worth the extra 10 bucks.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
You know what would balance things out? If Nintendo's Wii games were $10 less. Then, in some crazy indirect way, they'd be working together for our benefit.
![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I've been wanting to customize the soundtrack since the Xbox touted that feature. Hopefully it will be an option in most games, including the ones from certain snobby RPG companies who insist that the experience can never be enhanced without the original music.
Demo kiosks coming in October 20th! ![]() Wonder what they mean by pre and post sales? I wonder how long it will take to find out what specials they'll give for their systems. I'd rather reserve the system in Best Buy if it means some cool bonus like a free game or movie. And the PS3 is going to be hooked up to a sweet setup to boot. ![]() Expect huge lines, but it'll still be entertaining to merely watch. ![]() FELIPE NO |
Confirmed, baby.
![]() ![]() ![]() PS3 launch confirmed strong, now. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I've never played the game, but according to GAF the textures are a bit better than the 360 version, which was far uglier.
Always room to polish until November. Selling it at a slightly lower price ($50) would help too. I'm just glad the game delivers in sheer content. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
New game: Dreamers

Spoiler:
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Not going to go nuts yet. It's a UK magazine, and I hear they aren't very reliable. After the crap with "Oblivion yes/no/yes", I'll wait for a press release or screens from Konami.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Are they going to continue tweaking Resistence's graphics up until launch day? Each new screens seem to have better and better detail. It also looked pretty impressive from Game Head's preview last Saturday, with the exception of whenever the Chimeras ran around (looked a little stiff, like they were moving in fast-forward).
And yeah, the landscapes of GT look awesome, but the actual cars don't look quite polished enough. I see jaggies. :/ Also, if ZOE3 was confirmed last year, you'd hear more people raving about it. It's still in the unknown phase, and I wouldn't trust that UK magazine with the "exclusive". Of course I hope I'm proven wrong. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
