I'm willing to give the lifebar a shot so long as you can give me the quick version to installing it.

And the WIN version of MUGEN can be found in page one. Does that torrent I provided (the one under "important") still work? If not I'll try to update the page with a more recent one.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'll be happy to provide a character list, but I'm still adding characters and testing them out (which ones are worth keeping, which ones are broken or just crappy, etc). Once I sort most of them out I'll be happy to give you my list.

Quote:
You lazy bastard! ;p Hehe, kiddin'. Anyhow, 3 step tutorial:
I just wanted to be careful since MUGEN has a habit of breaking easily.

Oh, and in regards to adding stages, what can I do to control the order of the stages? For example, if I want to add 5 stages and test each one after, how do I make it so those 5 stages will be the first ones I cycle towards?

Penguin, can I have Sol?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

It's Ruby Heart from some Capcom game, can't remember which one though :P
Ruby Heart is from Marvel vs Capcom 2. I just so happen to have her, so here you go.

http://rapidshare.de/files/28216809/...20306.ace.html

I love the look of that KOF lifebar, but the only beef I have is that it doesn't display the character name. As for the selection screen, I do aggree there are snazzier looking ones than EVE, but the problem is that there appear to be less ? boxes to put your characters in. The benefit of EVE being practical is that it has lots of room for hundreds of characters.

You know what we really need? A MUGEN wiki or something that gives info on all these characters. I know barely 1/4 of the people included, so I'm constantly wondering who this character is a custom of, or if it's someone completely original.

Also, I know have a new priority: characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'll take any that you find. Perhaps someone created customs of EVA pilots using martial arts (my sister would die if someone made an Asuka character complete with moves)?

The character needs to be converted with dos2win for the pictures to properly come up.
I downloaded this thing, but how does it work?

According to you, it's supposed to fix portraits like this, right?

But will it also fix the character sprites?

Again, I want to start adding stages, but I want to make it so that all new stages will appear when I use Stage Select, instead of scattered around. I want to make sure each one works.

I've seen that Evangelion link before, but I don't know where to download the program. I hope it'll be easy to move the characters from that program into my MUGEN folder.

Why haven't you tried before asking this questions.
I have tried. I usually always try before I ask for help.

Just so you know, the thread is meant is primarily meant for people new to MUGEN. The purpose is to help each other out as well as share any characters and such. So please don't lecture so much when most of us are asking for help. I know all too well that if you tinker around without knowing what you're doing, you could end up crashing the whole damn program.

Quote:
Anyway, have you guys notices a whole bunch of zero-poster coming here (propably just) to request mugen stuff?
I'm well aware, but that's not up to me or you. Let the mods determine which people are worth keeping around.

On a lighter note, the lifebar you linked too works like a charm, and is a far improvement from the EVE lifebar. The new announcer is a lot better, too.

Also, thanks for helping me finally find a Sol worth keeping. Now if only I could find Dizzy...

Number two, though, I'm not sure why being published with or without someone's permission is such a bad thing. If you make an original character available for use in a customizable engine, why do you care who gets to use it? As long as it's got your name in the credits, why can't Joe Schmoe have it fight against his Evil Ken? That's the point of MUGEN to begin with.
This is exactly how I feel with all the whining going around with MUGEN creators. Is it not the point for other people to use their works as they see fit? If they're worrying about credability, all they have to do is trademark their name in somewhere (just check out Thor for proof). That's why I can't understand or respect all their decisions to close down their sites and keep people from downloading their characters.

I've asked this several times, but I'll keep asking until I get an answer. I'm trying to figure out how you can determine the order that stages will appear in stage select. I've looked at all the .def files but I can't figure it out. I don't want to add new stages unless I can test them out by rows, instead of cycling the huge list of stages already displayed.

I've found some characters that come as .dgc files. What program can I use to open this format?

Also....

Well it hapends when lose to a character who does not have a stage assigned in the select def. So either you do something like this:

Well I'll be, I've been wondering about this problem ever since I started MUGEN. While I don't mind assigning a stage to every character (something I'd probably do once I fill up the list), I would like a link to that patch you mentioned.

Hey Woosha, I was wondering. Is there perhaps some program where you can dump all your character folders into it and it will balance the strengths of everyone?

I ask because some characters that I have are totally overpowered and take down as much life on a single punch as someone else's super would do.
This is the second thing I was wondering; guys like Nightmare Broli are fun to play against, but the insanely high damage they do to you makes things unfair. If there was a way to lower the damage each character inflicts it would really help balance things out.

Another thing I was wondering is there's a way to assign which character (or which set of characters, which the computer would pick at random) would be the final boss?

How ya doing, buddy?

I've got Potemkin. I'd like I-No (use rapidshare).

I also have Justice, but it's a crappy PS1 rip. I've seen Dr Baldhead around a few sites, but haven't downloaded him yet.

I'd really like some characters from TMNT Tournament Fighters (aside from Aska, who's already included, along with Shredder, who is a cheap bastard with ridiculous special moves).

Blackcats now has an "Ultimate MUGEN" torrent, with 400 characters and 50 stages all installed. I suggest you go there and download it before requesting anyone here.

I second Black Spidey. And thanks to whoever sent Inuyasha, I've been looking for him for a while now. That just leaves Yusuke Yurameshi for anime requests (and any Evangelion characters, though I might have to download that custom game already).

Too bad most of the GG characters are crappy PS1 sprites.

I know a lot of people are requesting that I update the first page, and definetely plan to. It's just going to take a while for me to gather up all the useful links (finding a working torrent with the 500 characters installed would be helpful).

And I have one more row left to add characters to. After that, I'll sort out the list by removing the useless/uninteresting characters, then sorting each one by category (street fighter, anime, DBZ, etc).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's not like that site removed the authors' names or anything. It would be worse if they distributed those characters and took the claim for making them.

Could someone resend the Darkstalkers pack? The link won't work.

Still waiting for someone to reupload the Darkstalkers pack. Also, did someone actually find Order Sol? I'd like that too, please.

Oh, and how do I add endings to the characters? I downloaded an ending for Hinata from Random Select, but it didn't show up when I finished arcade mode with her.

I second the Red Earth characters. I'll take as many as you have.

I'm also looking for more anime-themed characters that I don't already have. Yusuke Yurameshi, any Evangelion characters, Kenshin (the one I have has a lame spanish voice), basically anything that's from an anime.

This is annoying. Almost every time MUGEN freezes for me when I'm halfway past arcade mode. What happens is when I lose to someone, and decide to switch to another character, the game goes black and freezes. I don't know what to do to fix this.

I want them both. I tried to register at the forum, but I keep getting an error message.

http://mugenesis.paodemugen.com.br/home/

If anyone has either X or Zero, let me know.

And is there an easier way to categorize the character list? I've noticed some people have file names like Capcom or Original listed before their character.

Is that Zero available in the same site? I want him on account that he's tall.

Also, does anyone have an Akuma that uses his Super Street Fighter II Turbo intro (where he kills Bison with his trademark special)? I found a level where this intro appears, but I'd prefer if the character used it.

The tall X is a great character, even if he's unfinished. Great animation and moves. I'm still waiting for the Tall Zero.

Also, the Classic Akuma you gave me doesn't have the Bison killing intro I'm looking for.
