I had all four of mine taken out somewhere between 4 and 5 years ago. It's the only time I've ever had general anesthesia, and it was a riot. They stuck the needle in my arm and I'm like, "Ok, ow, that hurts. Is that supposed to keep hurting?" and the oral surgeon says "Oh really, it still hurts? Why don't you tell me how much it hurts." And I'm like, "Well, it sorta feels like...wait...ooh, that's nice. I'm just going to go to sleep now."

I woke up after everything was done, lying in a dark room with radio playing on the overhead speakers. I tried to sing along for whatever reason. It was awesome. Never really had any issues with the gaping holes in my mouth, either. Just the typical discomfort and cleaning and such.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

They're the teeth farthest in the back, and more often than not they cause problems with other teeth or even just with themselves, growing in at angles, pushing all the other teeth around, causing all manner of aches and pains. A choice few don't have any problems with them, and some people never grow them at all, but many people have to have them removed to save themselves unnecessary pain.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
