Like KrelEN said, guy I knew on another forum broadcasted a suicide attempt on a webcam site. Took a bottle of pills, collapsed, cops showed up and everything while the camera was still on. Some people here might know of this, I don't know. Anyways, he survived and everyone found it pretty funny including himself. Few months later ended up tossing a barbecue in the back of his car and suffocated to death. kinda sucked. So yeah, just because they broadcast it doesn't mean they're not serious about doing it. It's silly, but it shouldn't be all that surprising. People have used suicide as a way to get attention for many, many years and how better to get attention than having the internet see it?
In the case of the guy I mentioned, he became a meme. Others would likely gladly go to such lengths to get even one ounce of fame. How ya doing, buddy? |
Don't know why you're getting so upset over someone you don't even know. Wow. and I quote: "I have risen from the dead. Now starts the reign of Zombie Sniper." serious shit There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Haha, wow, dude. Calm down. I'm not saying suicide is funny, far from it. But it's different when you know the person and when the he and the people he knows say it's not that big of a deal and not serious. You then have a pretty good indication that it's not that serious. Afterwards it turned into a joke because of how a meme was spawned from it. It only became serious a year later once he had everything in life lined up and it all feel apart. No one would laugh at, that's serious, that's depressing. But that's something far different and far sadder than an "attempt" that happens over a webcam.
Seriously, it's like you're offended by something you weren't even involved in or have no idea about. Ridiculous, man. It's almost offensive how upset you're getting over this. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I didn't watch it. If I did, I wouldn't have found it funny. It was only different once it was found out to be this particular guy and he made an appearance in the thread. Again, I never said suicide was funny. It's not. But, if it was a serious attempt on his life he would've done exactly what he did later, gone off alone in the middle of nowhere and ended it. The two situations were different. Originally he was happy and excited about his life, looking forward to his future, and then he had nothing to look forward to. Public, private. Not so serious, deadly serious.
Again, suicide is not funny. It was what happened after the fact, after everything was cleared up, and because of what was said and how it was handled. When he was actually depressed, after his life fell apart and after he disappeared, that was sad, as it would've been in any other case.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
