They snap when people don't use them, chuck the remote against the TV and feel so foolish that they need to blame it on something other than themselves.
This is the conclusion I've come to since I have not snapped my strap yet no matter how hard a whip it around my head or do other super cool moves you see in those fancy Wii commercials. Jam it back in, in the dark.
