1) Isn't that how every FPS on the Wii works? You move the cursor to the side and your character turns? It's better in Far Cry because you can stop the screen from moving by holding A (something the other FPSs haven't done, as far as I know).
3) Couldn't you just quickly hold down A and then slash to stop the screen from going down?

It's not better at all. It still fills terrible and suffers from the same problems Red Steel does. Apparently Metroid has found the perfect middle-ground, which is good because right now FPSs on the Wii need help. He's right in that the controls feel clunky, and holding down the A button does nothing to solve it.
No because it still wouldn't register a slice. It would just move the cursor. Either way it's irrelevant since it shouldn't happen. The controls should just work, simple as that. And in the case of Far Cry and Red Steel, they don't.
Beyond that, the game is fucking ugly as hell. Anyone who had hopes for this game was just being silly. It looked terrible from the get-go, and surprise, it turned out terrible. I mean, this is what, the fifth version of the PC game? It can only be ported around so much. The Wii needs a game built for it with obviously a lot of time put into the controls. Launch titles didn't do either.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
