You'll want a HHD eventually, whether you really need it or not. Luckily there's a ton of sales right now, and around these parts anyways (Canada) you can find a 60 gig drive for around 30 bucks if you look hard enough. I'm sure you can find something similar. Long gone are the days where you can get by with just a memory card.
Best reason to invest in one is simply to install games to the drive. Few of my games constantly gave me DREs and now that's not really an issue. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Gotta buy a headset on top of that though, which is a ridiculous thirty bucks. Depending on deals and bundles it might be a better idea to get a pro with the 60 gig drive and headset. Plus, pretty sure the arcade still comes with a wired controller.
oh, and don't forget the chrome disc-drive, man. that's, like, totally worth the money There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I don't see the appeal of an Xbox if you aren't going to use Live. But that's just me I guess.
And holy fuck, the arcade is a great deal now. When I bought mine as a replacement I just got the console and a wired controller for 350 bucks. How ya doing, buddy? |
No kidding. Luckily, I believe, there's a handful of games that allow you to play online with a silver account. Nothing really that exciting, but hey, he should look them up and give it a test run. Or just use a 48 hour trial. Because I've seen a lot of people get a box and say "not going to bother with live" and in a couple months they're total xbots and on live every day.
Might as well just get it over with. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Except maybe a tad shittier than what was in my mind. Though online Uno is good for laugh, so that's worth it at least. And maybe Bomberman if it isn't horribly laggy still like it was when it came out.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Indeed. It's wasted value for a lot of games, since many these days are driven towards the online experience. Single player for most will usually last anywhere from 8-15 hours, but I've put days of time into numerous online games. Paid for itself right there.
Plus, I remember getting the 360 near launch and thinking "fuck online, not really interested" and then I took a couple weeks off work, used the free month it gave you because I was bored out of my skull and now I can't imagine a console without online. 98% of the fun I get out of games these days is playing multiplayer with a good group of guys I picked up over the years. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
96 cents a week.
worth it FELIPE NO |
