DVDs take long time to burn
It takes me around an hour and a half to burn a DVD. Been like that since I got it, but I never bothered, since I didn't burn all that often.
 I've updated to the latest firmware. Using Nero OEM 6.6.1.15. Memorex 16x DVD-R discs. What am I doing wrong? Jam it back in, in the dark.  |

Well, I have a Dell Dimension 3k and they are set up on the same IDE cable. I was going to try and switch them around, but I don't have any cables long enough.
So before I go get a new one, it's not going to affect anything if I take the single device cable for the system HD and change it to a two device cable and hook the DVD writer to it instead of my storage drive, will it? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

Well, apparently my second IDE device was set to PIO (is that the first or second connector on the cable, cuz my storage drive is the the second or end cable).
I followed those intstructions, but it just reset it back to PIO. I don't have any of the box or shit for that HD, so I don't know anything about it without ripping it out. I dunno what to do about that, but I will still try seperating them off the same bus cable still. Most amazing jew boots |
