Also, some of you know that I'm a big Do As Infinity fan, but to tell you the truth, I don't really dig Tomiko's new "jazzy" style. I dunno, I think I prefer her rock-ish voice. But so far, the 2 pvs I saw ("Hold Me.." and "Farewell") are ok. I guess we can call it musical maturity on her side.

I think I reached the stage that I got tired of Jpop.
A friend of mine who runs negimaki.com, used to run lemolade.tv and jumbpshrimp.tv. These sites provide an online streaming playlist of Jpop bands for people to sample, he had a public ftp server full of jpop for anyone who wants to download, and even had his mini-tracker site. Basically he's the one who introduced me to my favorite bands like The Brilliant Green, Do As Infinity , and Every Little Thing. And then, a year (or two) ago, he announced that he was going to shut down his Jpop service. He said that he has reached a point that his love for the music was not as great as before, although he still listens to some bands once in a while, it's not as frequent as before. He even gave away his CDs to some people, his friends, and relatives (I just got private ftp access before he killed it). And I am afraid that I may be reaching the point where Jpop is losing it's appeal to me. I still listen to some bands, but not like before where my playlist plays Jpop 80-90% of the time. Probably due to lack of means of acquiring it, bands breaking up, or my dislike of the new songs and/or artists, I still do not know. So I ask you, my dear friends, have you ever seen yourself reaching this point? Because I never thought I would. What would you do? I was speaking idiomatically. |

Oh god yes.. Sanctuary sucks. Simple & Clean is tolerable, but my god Sanctuary sucks.
P.S. OP made me like Jpop again. I guess brits have special persuading powers when born. Must be the constant swearing. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

I don't know why it took me some long to get Tomiko Van's Farewell album. I'm listening to it right now and I'm enjoying each melody I hear... *sniff* this is such a good album. I don't care if some fans don't like her new career path, but I'm liking what I'm currently hearing. Ganbatte Ban-chan!

As for FictionJunction YUUKA, I have the first album, and I have to add that I enjoy the album very much. It's a side project by Yuki Kajiura (the composer for Madlax and Mai Hime). Here's some artists that I've just discovered:
- Amano Tsukiko - Imitation PoPs Uchuu Sentai NOIZ - Remiomoren Any thoughts on these artists? I'm kind of into J-rock/alt/punk-rock bands these days.. but not Visual-Kei bands.. well, some VK bands have tolerable and good music, but some or most are garbage. I just prefer to hear drums and guitar riffs in my music. (I know this is a Jpop thread.. but I don't know where else to put this, besides.. the thread needs a bump )What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

Hm, yeah, I've been trying to find their album for some time now. I only have the song from Bleach, and I like it.
Well, I heard from the internet that Remiomoren is good.. but after listening to it.. it's not that great, I think I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars. The music is good, but it's the voice.  YOU GUYS SHOULD LISTEN/WATCH VAN TOMIKO'S NEW SINGLE, "FLOWER"! I love it. (obviously )FELIPE NO |

Also, I've downloaded and gave Uverworld a listen, Flara. Yeah, they're pretty cool, nothing fancy, but pretty good to listen to. I actually enjoyed it than the latest AKFG album. Also, if anyone knows where I can get Sex Machineguns' latest album "Made in the US" (I think that's the title), I'll give you a pie. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
