I like it, especially the later albums (after Abbath took over the guitars). I'm not a big fan of traditional black metal, they tend to sound boring after some time.

Yeah, I have "I", really good stuff. I'm going to try the other bands you mentioned.

I though Gorgoroth would be great. I don't know about their older stuff, but I listened to their album "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam", and didn't really got into it. Am I listening to the wrong album?

I liked them back when in my anger-filled youth. Now that I think about it, I regret having listened to shitty bands back then (e.g. Limp Bizkit, Korn, and the like)

Holy shit Sabaton is awesome! I like how I listen to online radio to look/listen to "new" stuff.

I just listened to the new Amon Amarth album! It's good, although it could have used some experimenting on the sides. They tend to stick to the same formula on every album.

Anyways latest releases I've listened to include Moonsorrow's and Turisas' albums.
Oh, I have recently discovered Wolf, which is a great heavy metal band from Sweden.

Long live heavy metal!

It's been 5 years since the first announcement, and I'm still waiting for Wintersun's second album.

niki my viking friend!

Oh it's out? I'm gonna check it out. But honestly, everything after "Iron" was all meh. It wasn't the same after Jari left.

Also, I've been listening a lot of Arkona again this week. I don't understand what they are saying, but they sound fantaaastic.

Whoah. I just listened to the new Wintersun, and I must say this is very different. It's more prog, I guess, with a pinch of celtic strings. It's not as hard hitting as the first one, more like mellowed shredding. I like the first track, reminds me of Time's Scar from Chrono Cross.

Looks like the folk/viking scene is dying fast ... ;_;
Yeah It's really sad because I really enjoyed this sub-genre and I'm still listening to old stuff that got me hooked to folk/viking metal.

Well, the latest Finntroll album, Blodsvept, is pretty cool. It's more folky this time and a bit lighter compared to the dark and heavy last 2 albums (Ur Jordens Djup and Nifelvind). It's like a heavier version Nattfodd, but not as "funky".

Also, I still don't understand what they're singing about. I just like how it sounds.

New Ensiferum out in Feb 2015, here's 2 songs from the new album.

I like it. It sounds a bit like their "Iron" album but with a mix of their new ones.
