I'm the same way. In fact, whenever I do leave a message for someone it tends to sound like I'm talking in circles. And most of the time I'm not even sure when to end it so I just keep talking, then pause, then say "bye" or something like that.
Even when I'm at work calling a client I try not to leave a message unless I've written something down before hand.
