Yeah, the result screen does look pretty damn sloppy. Letters need to be more cyber-like.
The theme could be a little more darker, like SN1 was, but I've seen worse. It looks like, and this is just my theory, that Honey Punch is back, as well as an AC debut for Soul Crash. Now, if they could just get Silver Platform and Baby's Tears (Sky Girls Theme (with anime OP vid)), then that'd be sweet. As far as characters go... just keep Rage, and I'm happy. Sure, maybe add PiX, but just keep Rage. As far as BG graphics... I'm willing to bet they're slightly reverting to some older animation engines they used to use in older mixes, but I'm sure the dancers will still be dancing on flashing stages most of the time. How ya doing, buddy?

So much has happened with SuperNOVA 2 since the crash, so lemme see if I can remember enough to update you guys, if you haven't been keeping up, that is.
Soul Crash, Baby's Tears (Sky Girls), and Flow (Jammin Reggae) have been confirmed, it looks like. And for once, the ES and OMES aren't MAXes. Extra Stage: Unreal One More Extra Stage: NGO I hope I didn't mix them up. That's just what I remember seeing on some Japanese site Konami set up. SuperNOVA 2 was supposed to be set up for a location test at the same place that IIDX GOLD was set up, but it was canned last week for unknown reasons at this time. Perhaps they're still working out a few bugs and adding more Crossovers. Konami, if this is the case, just put AGEHA, TAIYO, EXE, Pandora, ULTIMATE, and Awakening, and I'll be damn happy. Of course, there are more I'd like to see, but meh, can't be too hopeful. And a friend and I were discussing this recently, but I also wanted to get your opinions. Do you guys think that Konami has been ripping on themes lately?? For instance, we were talking about how SuperNOVA's color scheme for the marquee and title screen looked somewhat familliar to that of Pump Zero's, and SuperNOVA 2's schemes looked like they were ripped from Pump New Xenesis. There's nowhere I can't reach.
|
The blue theme does look nice. Frankly, I couldn't care of people think they're ripping off of Pump games as of late. It looks pretty damn good.
Oh, some new info popped up recently.
If they're adding more OLD songs, that could be a good sign. At least if it's more stuff from 4th and 5th Mix, mainly 4th. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ha! Licenses in America for me that should matter tend to be the trance songs they put from actual DJ's like Darude, Paul Van Dyk, 4 Strings, and Ian Van Dahl, since I don't know if Golden Gate's "Take It To The Morning Light" was a license or KO.
Frankly, though, I don't expect too many licenses if there're only 50 new songs confirmed right now, because they still have to add some KO's, Crossovers, and new CS Exclusives, and they've already filled 12 slots from what we can tell. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
|
But frankly, I doubt Dance, Dance will be in SN2. They tend to NOT bother using licenses more than once. I think it's a money issue or something. Otherwise, all the asshole n00bs would have begged for Since U Been Gone and Crazy In Love by now. I was speaking idiomatically.

It's not like me to bump 2-month-dead threads, but thanks to E3, or more like thanks to the location test in Illinois going on right now, we have some confirmed songs for SuperNOVA2.
They're also apparently changing the lifebar system for Extra Stage. You'll be playing with Oni batteries, and the better you do on your Final Stage determines how many bars you get. 950,000 - 969,000 = 1 battery 970,000 - 979,000 = 2 batteries 980,000 - 989,000 = 3 batteries 990,000 - 1,000,000 = 4 batteries Well, it does seem pretty hard to get 4 batteries, but hey, I'm sure there are thousands by now who can do it, excluding me. Of course, I could do it on a song other than volcano.
Well, that's all I have from sources. I'm sure more will develop in the upcoming days, mainly due to the location test. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
|
Actually, I'm surprised they're RE-using a license. That's not usually Konami's style.
However, IMO, Come Clean was actually one of the few SN CS licenses I could stomach. Sure, the original song, like its original singer, sucks massive amounts of horse dick, but the remix was pretty good. FELIPE NO

You're right. As awesome as Chimera is, the charts are stupid. I tried Hard a few nights ago, and I got worn out right after the slowdown (which killed me, even at 2x).
I watched the special interview video from gametactics.com, and they were saying they licensed a buncha tracks from today's "hot artists". Yeah, maybe they were hot 10-12 years ago. Nowadays, they're nothing but washouts who desperately need money. While I'm on the subject... Faint sounds HORRIBLE!!!!! That right there is one of the WORST licenses I've EVER heard. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

![]() Is that Blind Justice I see?? Why, yes it IS!!! Thanks to a Japanese magazine (Kobayan), Konami has confirmed 2 new songs for SuperNOVA2 AC. Trip Machine Phoenix - DE-SIRE Blind Justice -Torn Souls, Hurt Faiths- - Zektbach. Both songs will have videos. BJ's will probably be the IIDX video (though I've never actually seen it). There was another song called Trust (DanceDanceRevolution Mix) by Tatsh feat. Yuuko, but I didn't see it in the mag shots, but it has been confirmed. Jam it back in, in the dark.
|
I'm sure they won't fuck it up, but I could be wrong.
I'm a little sad, though, that Blind Justice won't be a 9 or 10. 8 just seems too easy considering there's a lot they could do with that song. There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's on the IIDX 14 GOLD OST posted in K_ Takahashi's CJ, or I can MU it later if ya want.
Anyway, thanks to Zenius-I-Vanisher's site, I found this:
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

So I'm seeing a lot of planet names in these lists. Perhaps Konami's finally decided to go with the whole outer space thing for SuperNOVA2 (graphics, engine, songs), which is not bad, but still... coulda been darker. Doesn't matter. I'm still liking everything I see so far. I do find it funny, however, that the OMES, NGO, is in an Oni course. Perhaps this means there may be a way for NGO to be unlocked in Standard Arcade Mode. We'll find out soon. Correct me if I'm wrong, but CoinOpExpress has SuperNOVA2 kits and cabs set to be released on August 31, 2007 (one day after DD hits JP PS2). Is this accurate, or am I being mislead? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Heh, more SuperNOVA2 goodness from our friends at Zenius-I-Vanisher.
Captivate Chikai is already a song I was hoping would get crossed over. Stars, however, didn't sound as good as the Party Collection version. I was speaking idiomatically.

The songlist for SuperNOVA2 CS NA, since it's been about a week now, and no one bothered to post it (whether they have the game or looked up the info).
I tried copying it all from Zenius's site, but it was pretty messy, so I had to delete difficulties. My apologies. Now, for my review. Frankly, 28 Licenses is about 8 too many, and quite a few of them aren't even very, if any, good. Sure, the charts, well, some of them, are okay, but the song ruins em. However, there is one good license, though shoulda been considered a KO, as it was the winner of a DDR contest, and that is EternuS. If I remember correctly, you could download the full song during the contest, but I missed that chance, since I didn't vote during the contest. Anyone here snagged it and can maybe upload it? The new KO's are pretty good, Freeway Shuffle and Electrified probably being the best non-boss songs. The Bemani Crossover list was WAYYYY too short!! AND NO BLIND JUSTICE!!! Fuck you, America!! Japan, you better not forget that song in your version!! As far as Old songs... few good, few bad, few that I just don't care about that probably shouldn't be there, I'll leave it at that. Boss songs, Unreal's awesome, NGO's ending sucks on both Expert and Challenge, though Challenge sucks in general. Paranoia Hades is a good song, Expert chart I could probably pass after a few fails. Fuck the Challenge chart. Trip Machine Phoenix, Expert's okay, but hard. Challenge sucks. Love the interface, love the Select a Style BGM. Overall, DDR SuperNOVA2 CS US gets an 8 out of 10. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
