It makes one wonder....what's going on on the inside of his body? Some of those warts/growths look too elaborate to just be on the surface.
Poor guy, though. I hope the cure works.

are on the surface. His condition is caused by the same type of HPV virus that gives anyone with a normal immune system common warts. The tree-like growths in this outstanding are composed of
keratin and
filaggrin, the same stuff that makes up nails, hair, hooves, and horns. The warts themselves do not have 'roots' and are entirely localized in the epidermis. I imagine otherwise his condition would be very painful and life-threatening.
