You'll get that posted gas mileage if you don't want heating in the winter, A/C in the summer, never listen to the radio, never use/get power windows, never use/get power steering or any other "luxuries" that use electricity (which is a lot of things in a vehicle. In reality, hybrids only perform slightly better than their gas-only counterparts.
