If you use VLC, there's the snapshot function under the Video menu. Just make sure you have a snapshot folder set in the preferences under Video.
That's the easiest, and least time-consuming way to.
If you use Media Player Classic, there's the same type of function under the File menu, but that requires a lot more playing around with filters and such.
If you're playing a file in Windows Media Player, you have to lower the Video acceleration to nothing under Options -> Performance and then take a screen shot.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
