Man, I can't believe how good of a marketing gimmick the whole achievements/gamerscore thing is. Anyone else find themselves renting games for the sole purpose of gaining achievements (I haven't touched a sports game since the original Madden Football on SNES).
Anyway, all this system really needs is some more good games. PDZ is pretty good, but none of the upcoming games really excite me that much. Let's just get Halo 3 out here already. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It'll be awhile before Xbox 360 has anything remotely close to Halo-caliber. Easily the system's biggest downfall, but at least there are still tons of ways to have fun killing time with the arcade/downloadable trailers/demos/etc.
And is it just me or does the built-in DVD playing functionality suck? Only good thing about it is you're not required to buy an accessory to play DVDs. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Sorry, but Tube's Law dictates that any games involved in comparisons between itself and Halo will end up being complete flops upon the date of release.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I would've put down PDZ ages ago if it weren't for achievements, and my desire to not leave attainable ones unattained.
Plus, the half-assed achievements are probably only hurting them in the long run. People (such as Gamerscwhores like myself) will rent their shitty sports games more, but will actually purchase them less, which is where the money actually counts. I was speaking idiomatically. |
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Supposedly when the official camera thingy comes out, you'll be able to take pictures and use them as your avatar. Probably won't end up happening though because of too many wang pictures. As it stands now, all the default avatars suck just as bad as the ones you can buy. I honestly would pay a one-time scam fee of $1 if I knew I was getting one that wasn't shitty so I didn't have to change it later.
How ya doing, buddy? |
He's saying you can put your own pictures as your background for free by simply connecting your 360 to your computer and importing your picture from there.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It's obviously depicting human beings interacting with each other in a type of game and enjoying themselves while doing it; making a comparison to how one can enjoy oneself while playing a 360.
Marketing 101 There's nowhere I can't reach. |
A bigger HDD that isn't intended to replace the standard 20GB one, as predicted in that article, would be completely pointless. Ever since about day 3 as a 360 owner, I've been on my toes with disk space. A 100GB drive that you could just swap out would be a blessing. But who the hell would buy one if it's just treated as a giant memory card, since we all know how useful those are. Oh, and $100 for 20GB is a joke. Imagine buying the 100 gig one. We're talking like, $350 for that shit.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
It's really this simple, try to follow along carefully:
Buying a Core package is complete idiocy regardless of what your intents are for your Xbox 360. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Because then you're paying the same price but not getting a wireless controller, headset, HD cables, etc. It's not rational.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
No, they stopped that at like the end of January.
FELIPE NO |
I didn't even care about wireless controllers until I started playing with one. It's awesome to go to the kitchen to get food or something while I'm still pressing buttons for some reason.

I'm not huge on voice chat, but sometimes I do just put the controller in my pocket and go to some other room while still listening/talking to the conversation. Like one of those hip hands-free cell phone deal-i-os.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Nope. Although it's rumored that the 360 cam will let you use custom pictures, including wangs.

Why was that dude's post deleted that was making fun of the guy for saying "M$FT".
It was totally deserved. DAMN COMPANIES SELLING OUT AND TRYING TO GET PROFIT AND STUFF This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Give me an option to turn off disc autoplay already.
Most amazing jew boots |
I will often start up my 360 by pressing the eject button and putting in what disc I plan on playing, which unless done very fast, will skip the dashboard. But I don't want to immediately get into the game, I want to chill out in marketplace and check out my thousands of fan messages first. I was speaking idiomatically.

All of my original Xbox games run great. The downloadable versions can be disregarded due to their ridiculous price, but the emulation works fine and they only list "issues" with the games because they're being responsible and covering their bases since they don't want people whining if they run into some tiny irrelevant issue.

My list doesn't take into account conversion rate, which only Microsoft has the numbers on.
Also, since it's going on conv. rate only and not sales, you could still see popular games getting canned if enough people downloaded the trial (but not full version). Unlikely, but going purely off their statement for delisting eligibility, it's possible. EDIT: Copy+Pasting the top 10 list also serves to show how pointless basing delisting off metacritic is. Who cares what websites rate games if the consumers are enjoying them. Stupid. How ya doing, buddy? |
Here is a cleaned-up and more focused list, for anyone who cares, which filters out games younger than 6 months and games with no conversion rate (free). I have conversion rates for all 2005-2006 games in an excel sheet somewhere, but beyond those, it's up to Microsoft to release the numbers.
