When you say she can't connect, do you mean she can't connect to the wireless network? Or just the internet?
Also, on the modem, are there any lights on at all? And if so which ones? Same goes for the wireless router. And what can you tell me about what the software does? Ordinarily, you wouldn't need to install some special software to connect to a simple router. Also, figure out what the model number for the modem and router are. Jam it back in, in the dark.
