So gaming blogs/news-sites seem to be exploding with the rumor that in the Brit mag Nuts, Christian Bale confirmed that he will be playing Snake in the MGS movie yet, but no official confirmation anywhere yet.

Well the rumour is supposed to be that while Bale doesn't have the role it is something that he's gunning for and wants once the project gets going. Problem is is that there's no real confirmation about the magazine since news sites are quoting other sites who are quoting message board posts who aren't providing scans.
In other words take it with a grain of salt but since I'm on vacation in the UK at the moment and heading into town later I might be able to see if I can find the issue in question.
