Based on how far along the game looks at this point, I don't think it's unlikely that Diablo III will come out this year. This is far and away the number one most anticipated game that's currently "in development" for me.
I went through the MMO kick and played WoW for too long. But life has caught up with me and I can't afford to devote my life to a game like WoW that requires so much of my time. Diablo's formula matches what I want and can provide to a game. I love constantly upgrading my characters with new gear. I love the social aspect of playing online with other friends and being in a guild. WoW is the best at that formula, right now...but it requires a ton of time investment to get much of a payoff. Diablo is much more playable in small spurts while still managing to provide advancement and accomplishment. And I'm a total whore for basically anything Blizzard makes, because they're the best game developer in the world. So I'm ready for SC2 too. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
