I usually drink a can of soda and have a granola bar for breakfast. I know soda isn't great for you, but I have a messed up stomach in the morning and the carbonation works wonders for settling me down. It's not always necessarily a sugary/caffeinated soda, though. Sometimes it's just sparkling water. Depends what I felt like getting at the grocery store. So this is like, $1 worth of food.

Then I can drink lattes and cappuccinos and hot chocolates or whatever else I want all day while I'm at work, so this costs me nothing. And the milk is pretty filling and fairly healthy so long as I'm not adding a lot of sugary syrups to my drinks.

Lunch break ... like someone said, it's hard to come across anything that's really all that cheap. My store is tiny and there's no room in the fridge for me to bring my own lunch (because it's loaded with milk). So I go out, usually spend somewhere between $5-8.

Dinner is usually at home. Cooking for myself isn't too expensive. A typical meal runs about $5-10 depending on what I'm feeling like, but it also usually yields quite a bit in leftovers that I can eat the next few days. So I don't actually cook a new meal every night.

And of course, there are a few snack foods sitting around to eat in the betweens.

I'd say I average around $10/day, but I could probably knock that down a bit if I needed to budget. I don't feel too bad about spending less money than it takes for me to earn in one hour's worth of work on food. It's necessary, after all.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

<@a_lurker> There, I said it, I'm not taking it back.
