Sir VG is wearing the pendant from the Lunar: EB box set. Heh. Heh heh.

Much <3 for the Lunar series, even if it hasn't aged too well. Silver Star Story Complete was a vast improvement over the original; I played the Sega CD original recently, and nostalgia did not serve me well there. Smart-assed Nall was awesome, though. They should never have homogenized him in the remake.

Too bad they couldn't reuse the old soundtrack, the one thing the Sega CD version has over the PSX remake. That may be the fault of a crappy port, though, as the remake was originally a Saturn game. I've heard a couple isolated exerpts, and the Saturn audio is way better; I suspect they were just using generic music drivers on the PSX version.

Eternal Blue still winds up better than the first game either way, though. I slightly prefer the original game (again, partly for soundtrack reasons), unbeatable Borgan aside, but the remake is so close it's a middling little difference. You need to play the first game for context, but you're really playing for the second game. My brother still likes to pull the Mystere routine with his paladin in Wow, it's hilarious.

If for nothing else, you have to love the games for John Truitt's performance as Ghaleon. I don't think anybody can ham it up and still sound genuinely sinister like he did.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Eternal Blue has been a very entertaining game but that first boss was way to hard for a starting boss. I really haven't gotten far but it's looking really good so far.
As I recall, the first boss is a bit harder than what you face later on, just because you have less to work with. Just remember to keep Hiro and Gwyn separated, and defend when Hiro needs healing. This is one of the few parts in the game where levelling up might be necessary (Lucia comes in handy at that!) You DID buy all of Gwyn's spells, didn't you?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well heck, if you liked the first game, there's no reason at all to hold out on the second. It's basically SSSC except every single thing is better.

That eBay business with Vic just brings into sharper focus the unpleasant fact that brought down Working Designs. I don't think they really respected their fans as much as they claimed. If they really cared, they wouldn't have procrastinated as much as they were known to do. His priorities are really whacked out, something that doesn't seem to have changed one bit.

Incidentally, I don't think Victor Ireland has that much free time; he's working for Microsoft now!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
