Battletoads for the NES, right? Couldn't you just make a WAV recording of the Battletoads NSF, or is this specifically a request for a rip from the physical game cartridge?

I'd heard someone was dong a rip of Legend of Dragoon (PSX), to compensate for that insulting excuse for an OST that was released. Is that still being worked on? If not, since it looks like the PSF scene is pretty much done and over with, is it possible for somebody else to rip it?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Rune Walsh did it (and he called it Legend of Dragoon Unreleased Tracks...). But he said he was working on a complete rip. Which would include every single track found in the game. Plus, they'd loop TWICE. Which is a BIG PLUS to me.
Yeah, that was the one I was thinking of. The "official" soundtrack is 50 single-loop tracks smushed onto a single CD. The sound quality is pretty horrid to boot, since they had to go as far as to use CD compression to shoehorn the whole thing on there, cheap bastards.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I saw that somebody already ripped it, so I won't bother to continue. Where you can download that rip ? I don't remember... I feel cheap on information ;_;
Please resume your rip of Simpsons Hit and Run. The other rip is of extremely poor quality.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

hi all.... i'm looking all over the place for the arranged tracks Hyper Street Fighter II that came out for PS2 and XBOX. thanks.
They are sitting on my hard drive in raw ADX form right now. It'd be trivial to convert them all to convenient MP3 form, except for the fact that there are some ugly sound errors on at least three tracks (haven't checked the endings yet). They're the sort of errors one can't easily patch up, either.

I guess what I need to do is confirm if it was Capcom's sound files, or if it's an error on my own disc. If anybody else has the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, could you play the arranged version of Guile's theme and tell me if you notice any really obvious sound glitches?

So yeah, maybe there is actually a last boss / ending music. I can't tell. =(
No, there's not. I don't remember if there's an ending credits theme or not; I think they just recycle the title theme.

I'm pretty sure there's more than 4 tracks, but not by much. Title theme, forest theme, wasteland theme, Ringwraiths theme, cave ambiance, and a couple variations on the Moria theme (which is entirely percussion). And the ending song, if it exists. I'll have to ask my brother.

Not surprised there was an emulation bug. When my brother masochistically played through the entire game, it didn't even function properly for him at the end. The Balrog never showed up, so Gandalf quietly hung out at the back of the party during the ending sequence in Rivendell.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Sticks on the first note, huh? That either means the game requires a little hacking to make SPCs work past the first note, or else it is completely undumpable (wierd or shoddy programming as is the case for many US games - looking at you, Interplay). I have no way to check on this myself, but I can ask over on SNESMusic.org.

As an absolute last resort, you could always run something like Goldwave in the background and record WAVs from your own soundcard. Hardly the same as recording directly from the actual game, but it's better than nothing.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Well, I think it was more like streaming samples into SPC700 chip (SNES sound chip).
It had 64kb of memory, so streaming samples to it could get around that limitation as the whole music wasn't held in that SPC memory.
Sounds about right. The Clayfighter soundtrack is dumpable, save for the title song with attached vocals. Also explains why a lot of emulators balk at playing the announcer's sound effects.

It's probably possible to cobble together workable SPCs for Lord of the Rings by mining the ROM for the music segments and then chaining them all together, but you'd need to enable a special hack in all the SPCs players just for that one game. Probably way more trouble than it's worth. Alas.

Can somebody with the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (any platform) give me a hand here?

I need a quick rip of the arranged version of Guile's theme. I'm trying to do a rip of the whole thing, but I get a skip in the middle of a couple songs (most notably Guile's arranged theme), and I'm trying to confirm if it's my disc or an inherent error with the game files. If I've just got a bad copy, I might need someone to pull a few of the ADX files for me to replace my files.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Okay, I'm gonna put in a request of my own here. Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2. I know there's an OST already released for it but the music on the OST sounds SO much different from the music I hear in the game. PSF2 set also sounds exactly the same thing as the OST. I'd rip it, but I haven't completed the game yet and I've spent over 50 hours on the damn thing...not cool! I'm only requesting the tracks from the OST reripped in-game from the PS2, this does NOT include the 7 disc Symphony Suite.
The US version has the orchestral version, while the Japanese game (which is what the PSFs were ripped from) only had the crappy sequenced version. If you hold out, Squeenix is almost certain to release the orchestrated version sooner or later.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Someone posted a link to Krustys Super Funhouse on the snes. Are you sure thats the European Pal rip? Because some of the tracks are different on the Snes Pal version then on the Snes NSTC version.......
Yes, it covers the PAL version. The tracks that are different in the European version are there as (alternate) tracks. Hmm, I wonder if the Genesis PAL version has alternate songs too?

I wouldn't get your hopes up for Tom Sawyer unless someone wants to rip it via emulator or make an NFS rip. It's... not a very popular choice for collectors.

Could someone rip Cosmic Spacehead for the Genesis, please? I've looked and I can't even find a gym rip of it.
Would a VGM rip suffice? I'm in the middle of one rip, but I might be able to do it when I'm done. Does Cosmic Spacehead have a sound test?

Nobody asked for it, but since I finally got my mitts on the Xbox version for quality comparison, I'm about ready to finish up a rip of the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Fairly notable since the arranged music comes from the extremely rare 3D0 SF2 port, and also includes CPS1 versions of Cammy, Fei Long, T.Hawk, Dee Jay, and Akuma's themes. Should I throw in the Street Fighter 3 tracks for completeness, or just trust people to hunt down those soundtracks themselves?

Also, somebody asked for a rip of Dynasty Warriors 3? I just found a bunch of unedited WAVs on my hard drive where I got halfway through a rip then got lazy and stopped. I know there's official soundtracks for that game, but I think they're single looped, which always annoys me. Just need to trim and time those files properly and I'm done.

I'm not setting a time table, but after those two I'll start working on a VGM rip for Cosmic Spacehead. For real this time.

Lastly, a question/request: did anybody ever do a game rip of Psychonauts? The official album is single looped and missing about half the tracks.

Monkey King: I've already ripped the PS2 version of the game so it'll be interesting to see/hear the differences between the two.
PS2 version of which game? The Street Fighter Anniversary Collection? It and the Xbox version use identical ADX files, so there'd be no difference at all. I wanted to check a different version because there's a sound glitch on a few of the arranged tracks (particularly Guile's theme ;_; ), and wanted to be sure the fault was with Capcom's masters, and not my own disc.

Psychonauts in OGG format is fine, as long as the quality's up to snuff. I have plugins for EVERYTHING, so I'm hardly picky about file format.

In both the PS2 and Xbox version (which are using the same sound files), there's a little skip at the beginning of the arranged version of Guile's theme, as well as little errors in the "danger" versions of Zangief and Ken's themes. It's only those arranged tracks as far as I could tell. Not major, but impossible to miss if you have good ears.

You're quite right, just noticed it, it's where the beat skips for about a fraction of a second, just after the song kicks in, right? Well, in case it helps you confirm anything, there you have it. But are you able to remedy this? I think editing would be fairly easy but since I missed this detail (never been into Street Fighter music) I'm just too tired to go through that rip again.
Yeah, that's why I went looking for multiple versions. I guess Capcom had dirt on their master CD or something. I took a stab at it editing it once, didn't have much luck. I could try again later, though. The trick is being very precise about where you snip.

Since I wasn't able to find a decent rip of Psychonauts, I did one myself. It's probably redundant, but at least it'll be easier to find around here.

In addition to the soundtracks there are already two rips available. One older that I don't know where it came from (in mp3, the most common one), and mine (in ogg). Care to share the tracklist of your rip? Here's mine:
Good Lord, it's been nearly two weeks since I looked back here. >_< I'm not even that busy...

The common one (I'm assuming that's the one I found) is missing a ton of tracks, and I never found your Ogg Vorbis version, although admittedly I didn't search exhaustively. Mine's in MP3 form, assmbled and double looped from the game's Ogg files. I figured since there'd be some loss in decompressing, assembling into loops, and then recompressing, I might as well recompress into the more common MP3 format.

Man, that took an assload of searching. Curse my undying persistence. By any chance are you talking about these?

Those aren't continue tracks, though. They're from a beta version, where it seems they were dabbling with the idea of using short PCM audio clips to bridge the gap between CD audio loops. Sounded like a brilliant idea, but the fact that it was ultimately dropped suggests it didn't work so well in practice.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
