They likely will... in fact given that Link is in his TP appearance, Zelda might also be in HER TP appearance, and they might even throw in Midna in some form. That's just my guess though.

I also heard a rumour that they were going to swap out Kid Link from SSBM with the Cellshaded Link from uh, the gamecube game. The name escapes me at the moment..
Man, it looks like Sheik might sit this one out. They could have Zelda switch with Midna. Oh and I could definitely see them switching Young Link for Link from Wind Waker ("Celda").

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, I'm betting on the clones to be dropped first unless they get their own unique movesets. Maybe Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch are getting the axe?

As for Marth/Roy? Why would they remain, when it looks like we're getting a FE stage and may get characters from the latest titles?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The bios are just cheap excuses to show the new screens.

I find it quite cleverly done how they pretty much introduce the site's final content piece by piece in blog style.
Yeah, I don't really see the problem with the way they're doing things. So they're not busting a huge nut onto the waiting masses, but this is a refreshing way of getting media out.

And it holds folks' attention longer, so it seems.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Eh, if anything it's actually an original weapon based on sticky grenades which were used at one point. Sounds like oodles of fun, whether you try tagging folks with it or throwing it somewhere like the mines.

Edit: Looks like the latest update is a character profile for Pit, along with screens:
Oh and the backgrounds are downright awesome. I'm looking foward to seeing more of what seems to be Fox's new stage.

Wait, are they adding ANOTHER fucking sword charater?
Would Zero Suit Samus really fall in the 'Newcomer' group, rather than the veterans group Mario and Link are in? Last I heard, ZSS would be used after some kind of transformation while using Samus.

I was speaking idiomatically.

That would be interesting. It would be like Zelda from SSBM, but with a big laser gun/sword thing. And we all know that big laser guns make everything 72.4% better, right?
Yeah, I could see that happening. During a discussion about her on another forum, someone pointed out that they could easily cut Shiek out and give ZSS some of her moves (or at least some modified version of them).

Anyone checked out the latest update? Pit's up special is flight, and the arrow shot sounds like it'd be tricky to use in the heat of the moment.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I had a friend or two that were good at shooting me with Ness's lightening after they had smashed me off the side of the platform and it made it so I couldn't get back over. It's seems like that's the best sort of use for it.

Also, why would Samus need an alternate form? It's not like she isn't pretty good right now (unlike Zelda, I don't know anyone that played as her normally).
There's no reason why she shouldn't have one, since it's just Samus without her armor. Why toss her into the newcomers list when she clearly isn't, and it wouldn't be too hard to have Samus pop out of her suit after some requirements have been met.

Good point, Dopefish, though if they throw in some new items or ways to null this new advantage it might work. I'm wondering if this applies to all projectile weapons, so that would mean folks with guns can fire while moving as well.

Another update and this one looks like it's linked with the one from yesterday (movement while using projectile weapons). The name? Cracker Launcher

Also, looks like this weapon's angle is controlled by the c-stick. Wouldn't be surprised if adjustment are really slow and this thing is heavy or something (which is my impression while looking at these).

Quote:
You can walk around and jump while holding the launcher.

You can also aim the launcher at different angles by tilting the Control Stick up or down.

Metal Sphere, just so you know, Control Stick means the left analogue stick. I'm guessing that means you can't use most A attacks while holding this weapon.
I thought that was a given from the description alone, though this thing must be pretty slow/powerful in that case. I just want to know if weight comes into play here, and if it's a nice item to chuck.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

This of course means Sheik will probably be coming back as well.
Not really, there's a good chance Sheik has been axed and Zero Suit Samus gained that style of fighting. Not to mention this is TP Zelda, so we're probably going to get the last piece of the triforce from Twilight Princess too.

It's kind of like the situation for Roy, and several other characters. New games have since come out for those series and replacement is likely given Sakurai's mention of not everyone returning.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Heh, I was actually gonna note on that. Also, Bowser has more noticeable gums which adds to the aging effect since it enhances his lack of a full set of teeth.
Well, I could see why they'd want to age Bowser since supposedly Bowser Jr. is in this one. It'd make the difference between the two more obvious (even though it isn't necessary).

Ummm dude, that article is completely false. It was even confirmed by Sakurai that it was fake so...

I made sure to note that I wasn't quite sure about that info, seeing as I hadn't been following the game that much until the site started updating.

this one could be the most effective controller scheme out of the four.
We'll just have to wait and see, but I doubt it since he's mentioned that he prefers the gamecube controller. Hopefully they thought of some nice workarounds to some issues that may come up with the other controllers.

I'm guessing if you die you come back in armor but still not the best way to change your fighting style.

What I wanna know now is....so you use your final smash, your armor falls off, you pick up another final smash.....what happens?
Isn't there only one Final Smash per battle or something like that?

Yeah. Sakurai said there`d be one per battle.
Ah, so it wasn't just me imagining things. Hopefully we get an option that lets you make it the only item that appears, so final smash-only matches are possible.

Didn't Sakurai say he was aiming for a roster of around 40 characters? Even if they wind up with something below that, we'd still be seeing quite a few newcomers.

Hopefully they follow through with the clones deal, axing some or giving them unique movesets (while avoiding any new duplicates amongst the new additions).

Whoa, now this is an update. It looks like it's pretty easy to miss in the first place along with it probably being a bit hard to spot while in the fray. Definitely makes firing a shot off a bit riskier.

Though it says it reflects projectiles, I'm wondering if there will be exceptions (my guess is yes).

I kinda like how they did the pokemon he can summon, but honestly, Charizard?
He's using the starters, since it looks like they used the redesign of Red from FireRed/LeafGreen. I wonder if their reluctance to actually call him Red (as he's known in the games) means we may get the other trainers as alternates or at least a female clone. They could have Red have Blue as a different model (kind of like the Daisy thing Peach had) while the clone would have two different female trainers.

So far it sounds like this guy is 3 characters in one, and I'd have to see it in action (and play it myself) to come to any conclusions.

This character is cool, but I think it's another way to add more Pokemon to the rooster =P. I wonder if the alternate colors would be the shinning ones, and for the trainer it would be another like the ruby or gold trainer.
Well, they might be able to toss in Green (female from the same games as Red, the guy shown) along with Dawn and Lucas from Diamond and Pearl. They'd just have alternate models instead of colors if they did it this way.

They actually haven't shown a single pokemon from the fourth generation. I wonder why.
Good point, but it's unlikely that they'll be left out of the game seeing as how the previous titles had pokemon present from the latest games.

There are too many to chose from, for both the pokeballs and if an "alternate trainer" appears(and also to be added as a normal fighter ala Pikachu). Mewtwo may suck in melee but his attacks are cool and fun. (Except aerial down+a, because its slow and you never know when it hits :P)
Not really, they've already shown that they can pick and choose what gets in and what doesn't with the previous pokemon. Same thing will probably happen here.

Quote:
Something that may be a dumb question, but how is the trainer going to move in the stages? Summoning more Pokemon , I mean in the DK stage, or what if there is a stage like Pokefloats or Big blue? The only way I think it may be is summoning a flying Pokemon. Would be fun to watch.
Heh, damn good question. Wouldn't be surprised if he can following along just fine by running and jumping.

I forgot to mention this here, but it seems that there has been a small leak and truthfully this one looks really Authentic.

Apparently there is a little leak of the Roster picture! Of course it's only a lot of question marks, but apparently, it seems that Luigi, Captain Falcon, and (what looks like him, I don't know) Gannondorf are all in the game. However, when I counted the number of space (50 in all) and compared them to the list provided by Wiki, it seems that every single character from the previous game can be included (Around 25 on their list right now). I hope that this is truly Authentic.
That looks like a shopped version of Melee's character selection screen, so I'm calling fake on this one.

Well, Megaman Final smash could be Hyper Megaman (the one form MvsC), we still don't know the "full" powers of Megaman (nor X). And I think Megaman would be picked instead of X. I don't know but it;s just what I think.
I think it's because regular ole Megaman is less SERIOUS BUSINESS than X. The enemies and stages from those games also seem like a better match for Brawl.
