Jesus Christ, sign me up as Save-a-holic. Especially in FFXII, as others mentioned. This game is horrible with its surprises. You could be exploring/grinding in the Westersand and waltz right into a fight with a boss monster (even though the map name should be enough to warn you).
It happened a few too many times early on, so now I save after nearly every action. Bought some licenses? Save. Equipment? Save. Ride the Chocobo 4-5 maps? Save.
