Ok, here's more news this time, coming from Beyond3D's forums:

Don't reach for the .45 just yet, SOLDIER! There's stuff that's sure to cool you down. Famitsu got to compare the PS3's size to the the PS2 and they're surprisingly close. Oh and the on/off button isn't even a button... it's a thermosensor.

Here's some interesting news, pertaining to Blu-Ray movies releasing around the PS3's launch date as well as Talladega Nights being one of the first dual layer Blu-Ray movies. Something for those of you who are going to make some use out of the console's movie playback capabilities.
Edit: Don't get excited by the news that'll follow this, but supposedly Wipeout for the PS3 is/will be running at 1080p @ 60fps according to one cat. IMO, I wouldn't trust this, but he claims they have a machine in the office he works at. Whoops. This is the same guy that first leaked PS3 shots with his cellphone shown here. The other info: Source
1Up impressions.

And so on and so forth. Complacency really hasn't done much for the industry, since it was expressed back when the above points were first introduced.
Here's some online tidbits from RadiOPM: Podcast of the show.
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
Thermo Sensor With the two definitions side by side it should be obvious, by now, what it is. Instead of pressing something, you touch the sensor with your finger and your body heat turns it on. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
You can argue with someone else, since I've seen the way these things go and they're of no benefit to the thread. FELIPE NO ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |

With all this in mind, it's easy to see those who are intentionally spreading FUD. --- Anyway, it looks like we'll get online details the 19th, after that news from RadiOPM basically confirms its existance. As for that Wipeout news being true, I doubt it, but you never now. It's from the same person who took those PS3 shots so it's just something to keep an eye on. Reason: Automerged additional post.

No problem, I was just surprised how far this thread slipped down. It's probably because edit/automerge doesn't function as a regular post. Another interesting thing to note, is that OPM (U.S. OPM), has the review copy of Resistance and confirms 1080p native.

New info on White Knight Story from the headhoncho of Level 5, Akihiro Hino. This man's statement at the end rings true, it's no wonder why L5 is so damn good with someone like this at the helm.

Oh, here's what the Japanese PS3 model comes with in the box: Scroll down a bit and you'll see it.
Edit: Well, the AV cable thing's been clarified. It's the typical Playstation cable with the proprietary plug at one end, but at the other end it has all those connections (Stereo A/V Composite, Component, D-Terminal, Multi-Terminal). In the U.S. we'll probably just get a version of this with only composite and component at the connection end. 1 Controller 1 USB cable (probably the charging cable) 1 Stereo AV cable (This is confusing since it lists a ton of other stuff. Are they all on the end of the same cable, all you German folk?) 1 Lan/Ethernet cable 1 Power cord What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

Here's one of the first PS3 ads seen in New York City. The font is terrible in terms of showing the date, but the PS3 is pretty clear there. A rather "meh" advertisement.
And, again, for my fellow New Yorkers, it seems like the PS3 will be playable at DigitalLife (Oct 12-15th). Source HOLY SHIT. The code INSIDER2006 works, just got free tickets now.

Thanks to BlimBlim from Xboxyde and Playsyde, we've got a nice glimpse at non-God mode gameplay of Resistance from TGS. I don't know, but it seems like the reports of it being a bit on the difficult side look to be true watching the video.

If you did the same things he did in Insomniac's other shooter titles (R&C), you'd be skewered like that too. Just not as severely as he got mobbed at the end. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
Sony's apparently begun a viral marketing campaign, starting with the site PlayB3yond.com. I have no idea what it means, but it matches the general look of the other PS3 ads seen elsewhere.
Here are shrunken versions of scans that popped up online of Skate. I'm hearing that it's in 1080p but can't seem to find any solid evidence of it. Not any official quotes, nada. Oh well, here are the scans and the links to the larger ones: ![]() http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs307&d=06400&f=skate-1.jpg ![]() http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs307&d=06400&f=scate-2.jpg ![]() http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs307&d=06400&f=scate33.jpg ![]() http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs307&d=06400&f=scate4.jpg I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

Devil May Cry 4 move explanation from TGS, with english over it to explain what it says:
720p @ 50fps off-screen video of DMC4 at TGS (Presentation): http://www.playsyde.com/news_3670_en.html 720p @ 50fps video of DMC4 (Gameplay): http://www.playsyde.com/news_3675_en.html ![]() It looks real nice, that's for sure. Oh, it's not exclusive, though most would realize that since it's an EA title. Here's some scans from Edge magazine on Motorstorm. Here's the PS3 price for Sonic, and here is the Xbox 360 version's price. I've heard a worrying rumor that EBGames/Gamestop employees are going to be given first dibs on the launch units. If that's so, there's going to be even less for us and we'll end up seeing those machines on Ebay for $1000+

Here's some choice quotes from Ted Price's blog. He's the CEO of Insomniac, developer of the Spyro and Ratchet games along with Resistance: Fall of Man.
