So the project is finally nearing completion. So many delays. I'm just hopefully that within this year, I can finally play it. It will be interesting how different this game will be from previous FFs.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Wow, that spoiler is huge.
Sakimoto certainly knows how to remix and spruce up an old theme, as he proved in the Gradius V soundtrack. The MMO style gameplay elements is an interesting gameplay decision, I've often wished myself that I could play WoW, Lineage 2, DDO or other MMOs in a single player mode or in a small LAN. I'm guessing these areas are going to dwarf even the expansive world of Dragon Quest VIII. Most amazing jew boots |
Is there any way to rip the audio from the ISO floating around?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I don't believe there are any races in Ivalice that are also in Vanadiel, other than Humes. The races in FFXII originated (except Hume and Moogles) in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. There are the Bangaa, Viera, Moogles, Hume and Seeqs. The races of FFXI are: the Mithra, the Galka, the Tarutaru, Elvaans, and Humes.

This music makes me wet.
The East Dalmasca Desert theme is typical Sakimoto brilliance. Penelo's Theme is actually one of his earlier tracks that did not make it into Final Fantasy Tactics. Great stuff. Always thought it would make a beautiful character theme. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm guessing that some of you are fluent or know at least a passable amount of Japanese. Could anyone please translate the dialog that is occuring during and after the beginning tutorial boss fight with Basch and his allies?
Plus the music is rockin' when Basch starts opening up his plasma beam of kickass into the ship. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Awesome. Thanks for the heads up, Kaleb.

Has anyone beaten the game yet?
I'm just curious about how well developed the endgame material is. I'm not looking for any real spoilers or anything, just wondering about the amount of stuff you have left to do after defeating the last boss. Bonus dungeons? Matsuno is pretty good at adding some nice bonus material or easter eggs into his games, I'm hoping FFXII is no different. Most amazing jew boots |

I enjoyed long RPGs when I was young, and I had the time to appreciate them. Now, more often than not, I see long RPGs for what they are, filler content that rarely enriches the core content of the game. I am more than happy to play through the basic story of FFXII without hunting down every bonus monster. I will enjoy it every bit as much too.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Yeah, I'm starting to feel the waiting pains. I really want to play the damn game. Haven't felt this way about playing a new release in a long time. Giddy as a schoolchild.

Yeah, the Elder Wyrm is a bastard. I'd wiped a few times on previous bosses that were extremely close to dying, but the Elder Wyrm was the first boss to hand me my ass. I believe he had about 50% of his health left. Those special attacks are vicious.
Back to leveling, I guess. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Heh I'm already at 60 hours and I'm not even to Archades yet. I'm in the Sochen Cave Palace. That boss at the end is giving me fits.
Gotta say that the first boss fight in there was one of the best in the game yet. I love that battle theme as well. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
One of my main problems with the game is the lack of diversity in normal enemies. I sigh when I run into a new area and find myself fighting palette swapped Snake enemy #10000a, or roly-poly Cockatrice clone 1000000000000.
For a game in development for so long, you would think they would have more enemy models. :aargh: FELIPE NO |
I won't go as far to say that the soundtrack sucked, but it was definitely one of Sakimoto's weakest efforts. There were some great songs, and some utterly forgettable tracks. Still it was better than anything Uematsu had done since FFVI. Gotta get some new blood in there.
For me, the biggest disappointment was the storyline. It seems like they were trying to do something interesting there, but it felt strangely hollow at parts. It is almost as if they cut out portions of the storyline. They needed to flesh it out a little more. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
