Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures

What would you say is the most desperate thing you've done? I mean whatever field, doesn't matter, as long as desperation was your main compelling factor and your action were your last chance, only option, all or nothing.

I remember I had a term paper due once and I hadn't worked on it at all for Allah only knows what. I was about to go to bed so I was fixing all my stuff together in my bookbag for the next day when I saw the handout detailing the assignment. 10-page research paper. 4 AM. Due in class same day at 8 AM. Hadn't started, period.

I picked up a basketful of some caffeine drink, maybe those Starbucks shots, and went to work. It was all wikipedia, but the library was closed and I was too tired to check other sites. I finished at 7:30 AM.

I don't even remember my grade, but I know I passed the class.
