This happened when we went camping at Sequoia. The scenary was just breath taking, with all those mountains, trees, streams, deers, and especially the sun set. The only problem was we were on a backcountry trail meaning we were in the middle of nowhere and we had to pitch camp where we thought was fit. So we're going along on this cliff, which was about a 100 foot drop, and one of the guys decides to have a mental breakdown. He gets into an argument with one of my friends, and it escaladed to the point of screaming. He then goes on about how he's not going on any further and tells us he is going to head back and drive off with his car, so we'll be stranded there. The thing was, the sun was setting, and we saw no suitable camping ground anywhere.
We decided that instead of dealing with him, we'll just ditch him there in the middle of nowhere and find a place to camp. A couple actually stayed behind with him to try and persuade him. This was some crazy survival shit. You need to understand the situation. It was getting dark, and we were on a narrow passway where both sides of us were a cliff. And all of a sudden a guy has a mental breakdown and refused to go along. We decided to split up our gears into 2 groups. One group would just take tents to find a suitable camping ground. The other group was to carry the rest of the gear. God that was such an experience. We ended up camping next a frozen stream. Wow was that an experience. It was cold as hell, and we were just fucking tired, hauling our asses trying to find a place to sleep and eat. I think it was about 9 pm by the time we arrived there. The guy who had a mental breakdown showed up around 10 pm with the other guys. I have no idea how the hell they made it back. Oh, and apparentely a mountain lion or something came by during hte night because the next day we saw some tracks on the snow near our tents.
Wow.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
Dance party!
