I don't know, Star Ocean 3's fantastic plot twist certainly does contend at the very least.

It's a remake in the sort of vein of "the same but completely different". Not just small improvements like, say, Lunar, or laughable like the final fantasy "remakes"-- but basically a different game with the same storyline.
And it is a shame that it got ignored but I'm not sure that was only because of Unlimited Saga. Douche sites like gamespot ragged on the game fiercely too (6.4 rating I think?) so that probably didn't help.  There's nowhere I can't reach. |
