I think both games are different enough that comparing them is pretty silly. They both offer enough of a unique experience from one another that both are worth playing on their own merits.

There are plenty of things in VP2 I like more than the original, and vice versa. They are both great games and for once I didn't get the feeling that the sequel was disappointing compared to the original.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

You might be talking about the one which has a second, er, "jar" in the same room but high up in the air. You need to go up and during a horizontal walkway look to the left and see it floating right next to the fencing of the walkway in midair. Ride it down and the rest should be obvious.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Learning skills is based on the difference of levels between your characters and the enemies you fight, so I'd really suggest against using the share exp sealstone, so you can keep someone at level 1~2 and dead in the party when trying to learn new skills.

His attack vision for most of his skills in the final battle is a small cone, it's pretty easy to wrap around him to refill your AP and go crazy on him.

All I used was toughness+survival on Alicia, level 48 and had no trouble at all. I seperated her from the group also, though, because they couldn't hurt him anyway and they just kept giving him opportunities to cast spells.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The game depends more on your skill setups and equipment than raw levels. Never noticed that the stat boosts by leveling up are piss poor? Better to release Einherjar and get the boost items from them. Also scour the gate for the best possible gear. (there are some very irritating crystal puzzles, though)

So yes, you're fine. You would have been fine 30 levels ago. Or 40 even. <<

Er no, Optimal effect would be perfect releases in the Seraphic Gate. It makes the game easier to release them earlier, but if you want the absolute most stat boosts, wait until the SG and make sure they all have the best possible gears equipped.

He's really not hard at all. His attack range is so bad you can seriously just wrap around him to refill your AP. I wasn't joking when I said that's what I did. toughness+survival on "Alicia" and wrap circles around him while wailing on him. Left everyone else on the other side of the map as back up in case he somehow nailed me with his instant death spell. Going at him as a group got me massacred very fast.

How ya doing, buddy?

That is kind of a given though, is it not? You are not really expected to get those weapons in a normal play through. They didnt make the difficulty with those weapons in mind. =P

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It's really hard to answer that without any form of spoilers at all. All I can say really is the only characters that are 100% safe to use stat boosting items on are Alicia and Rufus. Any other names would be spoilers. (end game characters, etc)

It just depends. Not everyone plays the entire game revolving their stats and characters entirely around a single end game bonus dungeon. I can see why some people might but I imagine most wouldn't.

That was my point really is Alicia and Rufus are always in your team, don't worry about "wasting" stuff on them because they are perfectly safe to do whatever you want to. It's debatable if it's worth it, since there are other good characters at the end of the game but if you don't want to save everything for those characters you can use them on those two without them actually going to waste. A lot of people make the game a lot harder on themselves by saving all of the stat boosts (einherjars) for the end game but I got through the game without any trouble at all by sending them up at random intervals (and still beat the bonus dungeon just fine) so do whatever you want, really. Keep in mind that leveling up barely enhances stats and that boosters are at least 5x better.

Eh, that's your opinion. Phyress was the best character in my party (archer!) and I never broke a sweat thanks to her ridiculous attack power. Not sure why it would matter that you'll never get them back when you send 'em up either, since a good deal of the einherjar were worthless anyway and were better spent making other characters more powerful. (natural stat gain in this game was pretty weak)

Oh well... opinions, opinions.

I've been wanting to replay it for awhile actually but I don't have anywhere near the free time I used to. And lol, I can see my playstyle is quite a bit different anyway, since my team consisted of two archers, one light swordsman (Alicia), and until I got who I really wanted (special weapon user also) one heavy swordsman.

Half my team was carried by archery and I never really felt they dropped off -- not like mages ended up doing especially. Just goes to show you could probably have any combination and do fine really.

I never had to stop and grind a single time in the game. People put too much emphasis sometimes on leveling rather than trying out different skill combinations and using weaker gear with extra effects (sometimes that weapon that's almost half as strong could outdo the damage anyway if it's specialized for "X" monster type!). The only time I ever had to "Grind" was at the very end for the bonus content because I was training up an entirely new team.
