Firstly I would listen to his/her reasons for doing that. If it was an accident I wouldn't rat my friend out, but I would try and convince him/her to confess the crime to the Justice. But that wouldn't affect my friendship with this person...
Think this way: if my friend will tell me such a thing, that means she/he has complete trust in me. So, it wouldn't be difficult to talk him/her into confessing the crime. In fact, that would mean that I respect him/her so much that I don't wanna see him/her in a bad situation before the society.
Now, if he/she cold-blooded killed someone for selfish and stupid reasons... I'd call 911 for sure.
