The prices are hard to convert, since they aren't simple conversions. There's always a premium when buying it elsewhere, but being Canadian I'm sure you know that.

Hopefully the 40 is 400 or 450 bucks or something. Instant (re)sold in that case, but I doubt it. 500, maybe? I dunno. I won't bother guessing, as we'll hear something shortly, I'm sure.

Seconding the "arg why remove software BC now too", though. That just flat out doesn't make sense. Buying a second hand 20 confirmed?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Not really. To be as useless as the core, it would have to be without a hard drive and lack bluetooth.

This one isn't entirely useless.

I think our boy was just a little too late to catch the joke title, Mo0. I'm gonna cut him a tiny bit of slack and assume that, or assume he's playing along.

No one's so retarded as to state something like that in all seriousness, right?

It's also a Wednesday, a day that's not the most common release date in the world.

MGS's 1, 2, and 3 all have had late in the year release dates. (Sept/Oct for the first game, November for the second, and Nov/Dec for the third).

Japanese fiscal years also start in April, so Q2 2008 as stated here would push it into the July-September range. Which makes a tad bit more sense.

Even if it's a yankee fiscal year, June seems off, since Q2 ends in March.

If it's talking just a general "second quarter of the calendar year", that date seems like a placeholder as it's just a week and a half before the quarter ends.

So yeah, seems like a placeholder to me.

I'm starting to wonder if we need a tag like [clickmeyoufuckingidiot] or something that makes all URLs contained within to be green, size 50 font with blink and bold.

It would, at the very least, help the ever so knowledgeable SouthJag here avoid a bit of embarrassment.

Jesus Christ, no wonder everyone hates GS employees.

To which I have already replied using other criteria that I believe show that it's somewhat fishy. Anyway you look at it, 6/18 seems a tad arbitrary.

Wait, wait.

"There's technically less included mandatory software on the Microsoft console, but it's worse for them because the hard drive is smaller!"

What about the 120 option, then? The percentage of space lost to the included content is lesser, then. If you want to do a proper, uhh....comparison of this, compare the 20 gig models of each. I'd be surprised if it wasn't frighteningly similar.

Stop turning your thread into such a big joke, guys. Please?

Edit: Also that whole binary versus decimal measurement thing has been done for bazillions of years at this point, that's not a surprising issue anymore to anyone, is it?

There are, y'know, places like Blockbuster and so forth that rent games to people when they can't decide on what to purchase for themselves. Comparing these two titles is an apples and oranges affair. Neither game is a sandboxer or a stealth action title, and by listing two EXTREMELY POPULAR franchises you plan on buying into, you're not giving us a good enough idea of what you actually like.

Warhawk isn't an aerial shooter per say, it can be easier (and far more generically) classified as a multiplayer third person action game, since there's just as large a ground focus as there is on the air game. (With the exception of the Ruined Capitol map, but still.) It feels more like a simplified and faster paced Battlefield than anything else, if you want an easy comparison to something you've probably played.

COD is really THE multiplayer experience of the moment, but be prepared for the annoyances that come with it being an extremely popular title and how the kill cam goes to show just how many people use the reload glitch.

If anyone really gives a shit, one of the better looking reasons to take advantage of the region-free gaming on this console just went up as Play-Asia's weekly special. Bought so bad.

You're welcome.

Although it should be noted that the Asian version of this game (the one on sale, not the Japanese one) lacks any online support whatsoever, so no getting absolutely fucking raped by those insane folks who set records in the arcade, if you do order it.

It should be noted that "10 new battlefields" is not 10 maps in Warhawk jargon. A battlefield is a permutation of an existing map with different border definitions and sizes, and with different weapon loadouts.

While it's common knowledge, it would be unfortunate to have anyone think they'd be getting 10 full maps with all the size variants included and subsequently be disappointed.

Also, the trophy list still hasn't dropped, but there will be extras for each dlc pack, and you won't need those in order to get the platnum trophy. The rest will be either "community, game mode, vehicle or warhawk weapon" type trophies.

Wish I had a solid list to see how they'd be. With the stat tracking Warhawk does, I hope they have a significant amount of variety.

More sales.

Amazon goldbox deals of the day and lightning deals are all PS3 games and/or accessories today.

Amazon.com Gold Box: New Deals. Every Day.

All day: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. 23 bucks. Not bad.

Other deals through the day.

1) Blazing Angels 2: Secret Weapons of World War 2
2) DON'T KNOW. Description is:
Quote:
Upcoming Video Games Deal
Shift smoothly and hug those curves!
Could be Ridge Racer 7? GRID? Hoping the rumour that's persisting that it's the Driving Force GT wheel will turn out true. Oh god please make that sub 100 bucks and I'm all over that shit. OR
3) Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
4) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
5) Devil May Cry 4
6) Haze

Some good shit in there (and some really bad) if you don't have it already. Totally thinking of biting on Ratchet and (hopefully) the wheel.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Ah, it IS the racing wheel, and it's only 90 bucks. Totally a fucking AWESOME price, and I'd buy it if it weren't YET ANOTHER ITEM offered that LOL CAN'T SHIP TO CANADA DURP DURP. The price of shipping the fucking thing twice and bouncing it off an America address defeats the purpose of any savings whatsoever. The second shipping and the incoming custom fees because of it's size and weight would be killer.

I'll have to look for one locally for a good price. Shit, that's too bad though. Wanted it BAD.

Oh man, good work. My clock must have been off by a minute or something, since I totally missed the deal by the time I got here. Ratchet went in under two minutes, it's insane. I wonder how many copies they ended up having.

Uncharted's up next, and I'd recommend your brother grab that at a good price too, if he's interested. It's a good, solid game.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one experiencing connection problems, Omagnus. Still unsuccessful here as well.

What the FUCK is with this stuff, lately. At least this is a beta, where problems are expected, but still.

Can't wait, shitting pants. It'll be nice to have a racer we can do friend matches in, eh Omagnus? Especially after that GT5P fuckup. And all the other co-op disasters on the 360.

I'm in the same boat. Everyone has been raving over it, so I'm curious to try it out...

Retarded question - if I totally dug SNES Mario Kart, will I like this? It seems like one of those fast paced racer games with weapons/items to fuck up the other players...
I should string you up by your ballsack, throw you in an oven, and defecate on your soon to be crispy corpse for just COMPARING Wipeout to a cart racer.

Yes. There are weapons. But that's about it. It has more in common with Extreme G and F-zero than anything else, if you've played those.

He did.

The photo mode touches up blemishes and such, but fuuuuuuuuck, it really does look fantastic. It has absolutely NO BUSINESS looking this good. It runs circles around anything else released on any platform this year, and it doesn't even BLINK. Smooth 60, no matter what the fuck's going on, it's just...damn near flawless from a technical standpoint.

If it wasn't for Braid, I'd immediately declare this my personal favorite game of the year so far. It's that fucking good.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Pilot Assist will do more to hurt your technique than help it, especially if you're learning.

Besides, being difficult is the name of the game. Wipeout's never been terribly easy.
