While I love Star Ocean 2 to death, I'm willing to bet SE will outsource these ports to TOSE again and we'll end up with complete and utter shit ports. A shame they don't care enough about these properties to do any real quality control.

Because both games were/are DS bound, not to the PS3. Different enough so that they require being completely retooled from the ground up for either new features or entirely new gameplay, and quite simply do not fit into your little conjured up comparison in any logical way that proves that it's likely for IU to go to Sony's machine.

Could there potentially be something set in the universe on a handheld? Sure, there's precedent for that. I wouldn't have ever argued against that.
