I guess it depends on the pings you're having, as for when I was playing Slug with Tails, it wasn't that bad at all.

I wonder if it'll have TATE support for HDTVs (haha, I'm hilarious)
It does. Both clockwise and counterclockwise rotational support.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

A Tuesday? That's a weird date to list. I'll assume they mean the morning of the 16th, then.

Either way, much, MUCH earlier than I originally imagined.

No price announcement yet, and I wouldn't put it beyond a 1200 MSP price point, although 800 is reasonable too. It's big name enough that they very easily could charge the inflated price. I don't see it being any higher or lower.

The 360 doesn't have 16:10 output. More than likely, it never will.

Run your monitor in 16:9 mode.

Erm, what? Yeah, your box has a chance to fail. The warranty means you can send it in. What does worth have to do with it? It's not like you have to pay them for the warranty.

I'm still skeptical. "Feature lists" for these updates always come out early, and they're always somewhat flakey looking or from sources that aren't always that trustworthy. I'd love a lot of what's on that list, but I remember reading rumour lists containing group chat as a feature the last time we got a major upgrade. I ain't doubting it, but I ain't believing it outright either. Seems too good to be true, and all that. Especially with some stuff like the installations being on there.

But the gifting points (I can finally buy a bit of content on a marketplace that's not American without tieing the credit card to another gamercard!), group chat, and clearing out of old crap on the gamercard will be nice.

Well, that's a slight variation on the often used canned response they give to such things, that they have given it to both true and false rumours before, so it's hardly decisive.

I think the biggest knock against the list is how there are some wildly goofy things on it.

Hahahahaha. Shit. No Spring update. AT ALL.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: MS to Delist XBLA Titles : Next Generation - Interactive Entertainment Today, Video Game and Industry News - Home of Edge Online

Mclawl sandwich. Turned out it was correct to be skeptical! Once again, "news" blogs make shit up! Horray~

That's not the only strange thing, though! BEHOLD.

Whitten also told us that there would be no spring dashboard update for Xbox 360 owners this year, saying that resources were instead focused on “building the proper infrastructure and scale for the service.” There will however be a change to DRM policy and a tool released next month that will allow 360 owners to re-license content to a single console—finally fixing the issue that forced gamers playing XBLA games to be connected to Xbox LIVE if their 360 broke down and was replaced.
What the fuck?

I'm all for a fix to that extremely broken DRM. That's need a fix since day one.

But removing titles from the service, even shitty ones, is ridiculous. Part of the point of digital distrobution is that there IS no shelf space one needs to consider. There is no concerns about lost revenue elsewhere if old product is left available. It lets people find whatever they want with ease, and not having to hear "sold out" or unavailable. This does nothing but hose over some devs.

What's truely mind boggling is the bit about metacritic. Are we allowing a corrupt media to collectively decide what games we are even ALLOWED TO PLAY anymore?

Just discount it and stick it in a special bargain bin catagory or something. There's literally NO REASON I can think of to remove the stuff other than realizing that browsing titles sucks on the Xbox.

Some games I own that fall under the "metacritic has determined it sucks" catagory is Mad Tracks, Time Pilot, and Triggerheart Exelica. If these need to be deleted to make space, am I gonna be able to redownload them later? Hell, most of the arcade classics are eligible for delisting thanks to this. While I might personally not like them, a few people do. It's just silly to remove it at all.

What argument do they have for doing this? GOOD GAMES NOT SELLING BECAUSE OF BAD GAMES? Then apply QA from here on out. But this is silly.

Keep in mind that stuff like the auto demo download option would do nothing if not artificially drive down conversion rates.

Gamescore blog is insisting that you'll be able to redownload the titles after it has been delisted, if you already bought it.

While that's one of about a potential dozen concerns addressed, the whole thing is stull absurd.

I too, agree with that sentiment. Especially since other downloaded stuff from the history that's been removed from the marketplace is no longer available to be redownloaded through that list.

I wouldn't really call it begging. I was off that phone in 10 minutes. Most other people who got refunds didn't have a lot of trouble with it either.

Be sure to tell us if it actually works now if you do find a game. I think Mo0 still has it.

Aces has been announced for a while. I've been looking forward to at least trying it for months. Hopefully the co-op works and the game itself is a bit of fun. I haven't read early impressions anywhere yet, so hard to gauge.

We have both a thread on 360s and a thread on GTA where this could have been asked. Merging with the former, since it sounds like your 360's at fault.

Good lord.

The worst part about all this is joystiq running it gives the crack addled retard who makes this shit up just the sort of recognition he wants. "Toned it down", the source says. Yeah, sure there buddy. These "news" blogs get worse every fucking day.

I wonder if I can get any traffic here by fucking saying something completely random like "PSN to get FF7 rerelease with trophy support" and having you submit it to these guys, Omagnus.

Might be worth it for an experiment.

The stick from AC6 was called the "ACE EDGE", which was really just a recolour of the FLIGHTSTICK 2, so no. It's not the same stick there.

Playing Street Fighter with a flight stick would be kinda...uhh...weird, don't you think?

The price of TLR fluctuates all over the place on Amazon, actually. Full price one day, 40 another, then 60 again, then 30...then 60 again. It's strange.

Mirror's isn't bad, but it's painfully short and doesn't live up to the speed or fluidity the demo presents. Very often you'll be dumped into puzzle rooms where your runner vision becomes useless, the cops will never show up to get you, and the entire pacing of the level grinds to a fucking halt.

The time trials are fun but some of them are ridiculously hard to par time, same with the speedrun options in some cases.

It's a crying shame, actually. The game works fantastic when it it's firing on all cylinders, but outside of that it falters quite regularly. (Helloooooo chapters 7 and 8)

Well, in short, you don't have the awesome ability to return it to the store like you do in Omagnus's case, but the number to phone and bitch until you get a free repair is the same as the yanks. 1-800-4MY-XBOX I think it is.

When you go through the send in process, you're likely to get a refurb. Some people get extremely lucky and get new machines, but it's not something I'd bet on.

I believe a "Thank God" is well deserved for the second point. I've been at 95 friends on the buddy list for a while, adding and removing the last few to keep a little space open. Hopefully the NXE won't explode when trying to load a buddy list of that size though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
