Do you have no concept of anything other than absolutes? To assume it's all or nothing really does nothing for your case, sonny.

Also, why did Microsoft even bother advertising this game? Why the ARG? Why the action figures, the IMAX demo, the trailers, the Mountain Dew, the Pontiac thing, or any of that stuff? None of these hype the game at all, everyone was gonna buy it anyway after all, right?

How ya doing, buddy?

I'd be Skills. I have a different username right now.

That said, you clearly have no idea of how the beta was distributed. Most players got in through Crackdown, an excellent game in it's own right that was not always purchased just so people could get into the thing months down the line. (Although that did happen.) There was no trouble being gone through here, and for many, it was a bonus.

Secondly, those that did get in would spread the word to those that didn't, again, generating hype! Who'd have thunk that, eh'?

We get it though, you're right. The beta, it didn't do anything. Totally useless. Didn't change a thing, right, right. It has zero net effect on any of the potential interest in the title. Betcha this Call of Duty 4 beta going on right now also isn't hyping that game up, or the TF2 thing that's starting soon is also useless, or any other playable demonstration or beta of any game whatsoever doesn't help it at all, especially if it's really well recieved.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'll give you that I don't think it'll be the greatest thing of all time, ever made, in all the universe, etc, but I never had an issue with that statement in the first place. Recall where and about what I initially confronted you and you'll see exactly what I took issue with.

Zeal has, and Tube was downloading it last I heard.

They probably won't ban people right off the hop because there's a lot of legitimate cases of the street date being broken, and that's really not the fault of the buyer in question.

I'd imagine they'd still ban people for the act of stealing and modding, though. They don't want people doing that, regardless of what game it is.

Also, impressions are great, from what I've read on the tubes. But keep it spoiler free, assholes.

but I'm guessing that nobody will play it in multi now that 3 is out.
Just like how everyone stopped playing UT99 when 2k4 came out, eh? It won't die, by any stetch. You'll lose players but it's pretty safe to assume there will be people on H2 until they shut the servers down.

Push to talk is still the stupidest thing EVER in an FPS. I love the mute functions but fucking COME ON, ugh.

The push to talk feature in all games should just be a feature. Because people can always mute so what's the point in making P2Talk a standard?
Precisely. With all the quick mute features, the ability to automatically mute people on the other team BY DEFAULT, and so forth, push to talk is a major inconvenience that only distracts the player and can end up costing teams shit if a player forgets about it.

I'm not sure how Bungie managed it, but I can now MP with people across the world (well, except Skills) with little lag. Vast improvement from the beta netcode.

Meleeing Tails whenever I see him.
I actually think it was Daravon we were having issues with. Just that both times we've met up, I've been partied with him, so I dunno.

Maybe I'll make a video clip of it.
Shame you can't do that in campaign replays. It's all or nothing when it comes to that.

Progressive screenshots of the incident are probably the order of the day, here.

Hah, you can blow that off? I had no idea.

It's far, far, FAR more fun to do it the hard way though. My favorite is landing the Hornet on the thing, blowing it up, getting back in the Hornet and flying away as the damn thing blows up. It damages the shit out of you if you're not fast enough, but it's super fucking epic and makes for some great screenshots.

Or, to elaborate further, you can earn achievements while not being signed into Live, but not if you're not signed into your profile.

There's a Recover Profile option one could use to...well, recover a profile, in case it gets corrupted or deleted in a situation such as that.

Technically they will still probably be making Halo titles for MGS, but this gives them the ability to put out Marathon on the DS if they feel so inclined, or some shit. The autonomy doesn't necessarily mean they're abandoning their largest gauranteed source of income.

"Shotty snipers man veto this shit!"
::shotty snipers again::
"AW WHAT"
This has happened to me about three times, always resulting in half the group disconnecting and the other half either laughing or whining.

But you're right. Full GFF parties is nice. Didn't take them all that long to fully update this stuff either. I figured we'd be waiting a little while longer. Awesome.
