Need to write up a Haruhi chronology or something, because I'm starting to lose track of which episode goes where. Case in point, the 6th aired episode is actually episode 9 (and it looks like a two-parter). Which is just as well, I guess, because the series is LOADED. Only a few minutes into episode 5 and I had to pause a bit to read all the text flying across the screen, all of which was essential to the plot.

Can't wait to see how the real episode 6 turns out, but apparently the next aired episode features a beach so that can't be bad.

What, Instrumentality? I hardly think that was the intention at all. The questioning of a dream world versus real world is abundant in lots of things, even down to series like Cowboy Bebop (why is this a spoiler).

Also, I'm having trouble accessing this site: http://www.designchronicle.com/memen...ya_haruhi.html

Anyone else able to log in?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ugh. Props for the cosplay but not much else. I'm afraid nothing beats the Gundam version ;_;

One wquestion. How come first epi was about the laser beam? Which had nothing to do with events right now? Anyways, hows new epis? I haven't caught on since epi 5.
Episode 1 is supposed to be a video that the SOS Brigade films, hence the 'bad acting' and general cheesiness. Pretty hilarious stuff, but it can be pretty confusing as well. Episode 2+ is the "actual" plot.

Heh. I still gotta finish episode 2 lol. But since 7 episodes are out so far, are they bad or good ? I've been reading news on how the OP and ED theme is popular not that great to me... nowadays.
If you liked what you've seen so far, then you'll like the rest of the series. If you've thought it was dull or not funny, then chances are good you'll never like it.

Also, the OP and ED are sex.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, technically episode 14 has already aired (chronologically, not airing order) and I doubt many people had a complaint with it. It was pretty cute, after all.

I think it's pretty impossible for them to 'screw up' the series, since it's split up into small arcs and all. And since the series is based off the novels, the presence of a completed source means they won't be pulling crap out of their butts anyway.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, the dichotomy of the film segment and the end segment where Haruhi is speaking to the SOS Brigade ought to clue people in...

Well, the series itself is based off the novels. When the anime series completes its run, it will have just about used up the available source... maybe they'll animate more when more novels get published?

I was speaking idiomatically.

I finished the series just recently (I got kind of delayed) and was amazed. The production value on Haruhi is so high, I wonder how they'll top it (or even match it) when the sequel comes out (AND THERE MUST BE A SEQUEL). We knew Kyoto Animation was great from watching stuff like FMP:TSR, but having to recofus the camera when Haruhi zooms in from the background too quickly? Instrument players that actually MOVE IN TIME TO THE MUSIC? I am a fan for life.

I browsed through some of the novel translations (at the wiki site, since it's a bit ahead of a.f.k.'s translation) and it's pretty darn intriguing. If strato maintains the crazy pace he (she?) worked at for the series, it'd be pretty awesome.

Totally the best series of last season. Detractors can burn!

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

The 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' set of episodes (all six) comprise the first volume of the novels. The rest of the series (with the exception of episode 9, "Someday in the Rain") is based on arcs from the following 2 novels or so.

She's pretty cute (violent?) in the novels, too:

A soundtrack for the series has not been released yet. That torrent is pretty much an assortment of everything else, though -- character singles, OP/ED, music used in episode 1, radio drama, etc.

Was there really an official announcement all the way back then, or did people just assume there would be a second season because... why not?

How ya doing, buddy?

Random images from the live concert the Haruhi cast did a few months ago:

The whole cast here. Key point is: KYON'S SISTER IS TALL.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are just pleasantly confused.

Didn't know anything at all, actually. I don't read the novels (not fond of reading books on the computer) or pay very close attention to the series as it is developing, so yeah. Glasses was just an educated guess based on what you wrote in your first spoiler.

Thanks for the explanation, I guess. I can see why Nagata fans might go crazy with excitement. Or rage.

I was speaking idiomatically.

From what I've read, the disputes seemed to be focused on royalties or some other financial reason. Regardless, I'm not particularly worried. The series is going to air at some point, no question about it. Production of the anime series has made the franchise way too popular for even the author to hold it back for too long.

Someone ought to stick FMP fans and Haruhi fans in a room, lock the door, then tell them the last faction standing gets their sequel animated first. The resulting carnage would be epic.

How ya doing, buddy?
