My parents hardly ever bought me anything, and I'm paying for college myself through loans. Almost anything my mother got for me as a youth was through money from the VA on behalf of my father not paying child support. Medical expenses through insurance, etc. So whatever the house and related expenses cost, food and such, that's pretty much it.
