You guys should have just slapped them on the hand or banned one from the thread.

Anyway, I bought Heavenly Sword and I am loving it. I definitely feel a difference between the final build and the demo. I had an audience as well, that described watching the game as incredibly easy and entertaining because it was like watching a movie. People would walk away and come back and ask what happened. It was a pretty good experience. While I kind of do understand people complaining about the shortness of the game, as I only played for a few hours and am about 50% done now, it's still a great game. And if people buy it, we get downloadable content.

I kind of want to buy Lair but I don't know. My next PS3 game is between that and Ninja Gaiden Sigma, unless if I don't buy any before Folklore's release, which is going to be the next killer action/adventure/RPG title most def.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I've been looking for Heavenly Sword but no luck. I'm still learning and playing Resistance online from time to time too.

Blacksite Area 51 has my interest piqued though, as that game looks pretty nifty. Any announcements on when a demo is going to be available to play online?
If its selling out, it must be doing well. I can't wait to see the numbers. The sequel and the DLC seem to be dependent on sales, but god would it be awesome if we got some.

I can't play Resistance if I know that Warhawk is there. I'm really not an FPS guy so even if I practice I won't get far skillwise anyway.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Interesting. A lot of games that were already released will be getting rumble support, I assume via system firmware updates:I'm glad they're going to throw support in for some of the older games. It looks from the article that the only games without rumble support are going to be flOw and Lair?
Virtua Fighter 5 doesn't have rumble either.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wait... rumble features can be different? People actually notice this shit? This is getting pretty ridiculous.

Can we please go back to having two motors spin around each other so that people can stop bitching about mundane shit?

PS3s is better! 360s is better! Jesus Christ shut the hell up.

I mean, its great PS3 gets rumble back but like Qwarky said, it's just people spewing bullshit from their mouths.

Nobody was really talking about that though. Qwarky and I were just commenting on how the press was making it out to some innovation in the field to 1up MS or something, which it turned out to be nothing like. Are you talking about the same thing?
No I think I'm just complaining because of all the bullshit I've been reading around the internet about it.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Zeta26, I'm sorry to have to say this, but you are a fucking retard.

There is no way to download a Playstation 2 game onto a PS3 to play. If you have the 20GB, 60GB or 80GB models, you can insert a Playstation 2 format disc and play, but you cannot download any PS2 game onto a PS3.

Now please, for the love of God, stop posting about it.

Did anyone's PS3 fuck up after 2.40 here?

Anyway 2.41 fixes the problem that caused the 2.40 HDDs to screw up. Besides that it added an option to shut off the PS3 after updating, and changed the look and feel of the Platinum trophy.

A lot of developers are not adding trophy support, and I highly doubt they will for music either.

Burnout, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Call of Duty, among others, all are confirmed not to be getting trophies in the near future, if not at all. It kind of makes you wonder what kind of relationship Sony has with its developers. Do they just do shit for the hell of it, or are they just throwing out new features because people want them?

For all of the time it took for us to get trophies, I kind of figured they'd have some sort of deal with developers or conference or something to try to sway them to support all games. Since most of the PS3 games I was looking forward to have come out and I own already, I kind of feel like I wasted something here.

Of course, developers don't HAVE to do anything and I respect their right not to, but it's also quite silly. Adding trophy support to your games would probably take a very small amount of time to do something to get new consumers to buy games as well as have people yank it off their shelves to play it again. Isn't that the kind of positive attention developer's want?

I'm seriously confused here. And don't get me started on the music feature or in-game messaging.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

It is EXTREMELY fickle. A dash and "rd" at the end of my street name was messing me up. Call your financial institution and ask them the EXACT address you're listed as; that's the only thing that will work.

The only game worth $5 in the sale is PixelJunk Monsters, not even Encore. I already have the original so it's useless to me.

I wouldn't even play Rocketmen or Pain if Sony paid me $5.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Oh, I see how it is.

I am actually having a fucking ball with these two games right about now. Probably more PAIN than Rocketmen, but I don't regret either at this point in time.
Really? My impressions of them were terrible. PAIN seemed too much of a 10 minute game and Rocketmen was... Rocketmen.

I am about to grab the PixelJunk Eden demo though.

damn this is driving me crazy >.< I change credit card like a week ago and I decided to change my billing info in the PS store but it just wont accept it!

and even worse every time it fail by saying my credit card is not valid, I get charge 1$ on it, now I'm up to 15$ on my credit cards because of this.

it seem it just doesn't recognize my billing address or something, I must have tried any way possible and it just won't work...
This happened to me. The money will be back in 3-5 business dys.

Call your bank or credit company and ask them for the exact billing address: character by character. I kid you not, it wasn't authorizing for me because of a dash and because i was typing "rd" at the end of my street number.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I went to update my Warhawk and my PS3s video completely wigged out. Sony customer support told me to try different wires but, I have an odd feeling that won't solve anything.

Here's some video I took, because I have no idea how to explain this:

YouTube Video

This one is a little bit more typical:
YouTube Video

Sony told me to reset the video settings which is why its 480i in the videos, and it worked the first time I did it for a little while: by the time I got to the video settings and changing my output to component cables, it was done again.

edit//
I removed the disc, cleaned it, set my video to component. All ok. Then I booted up. Ok, seems to be working. Reinserted Warhawk, managed to update. Ok. It froze again while trying to book the game after the Playstation 3 screen.

After it froze, I tried to boot with the game disk in and it instantly froze again.

Boot with no game disc: Works fine again. Inserted Soul Calibur IV: No go. It froze on the "Update Found" screen, but no graphical mess. Trying to boot it now and I'm getting no signal from the console at all for two tries.

Got video to work with Soul Calibur IV disc inserted. It boots, after 3 seconds the video starts to fail again.

It's also been powered off for a few hours which may be why it started working again. This wouldn't make sense as disc-based boots seem to fail, but boots where the drive is empty booted ok... except...

Removed Soul Calibur IV to try another empty boot. I wanted to test downloaded games. Instant fail. I looked up from typing this and it was flickering already. Tried again, managed to get to The Last Guy but it instantly started flickering and failed. Powering it off for a while until I get more ideas. I'm baffled.

It's easy to assume perhaps the system overheated, however I keep it on standby so it shouldn't get that hot. Furthermore, my dorm has A/C on and the PS3 is next to an open window which almost always has a breeze. It shouldn't have overheated. Even during these tests, the amount of heat that the system emitted is fairly normal, if not cool. My Macbook Pro gets a LOT hotter.

edit2//
Tried my Wii, also hooked up on my other set of Component ports, absolutely no problems. Then I got the idea to switch the component ports the Wii and PS3 were using to see if maybe they were faulty. Not the case. Booted it up and the time I had it powered off gave me enough time to boot The Last Guy (The last game I bought and played, Thursday night). It got to The Last Guy main screen before it froze. No real graphical problems this time except you could see pixels that froze (turned white). I took video but I might not bother posting it since I'm sure people get the point.

Need to find a way to test the cables.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Tested the cables. Did not work. This unit is pretty much dead.

edit//Called Sony. Repairs are $150 and I am guaranteed another 60GB console. Let's see if this works.

I wish my PS3 would work but I recently erased all my data trying to back it up. I have the box, but all the good data recovery software is on Windows, and my Windows partition recently broke. So I need to reinstall it over the weekend so I can ship out my PS3 to Sony. I don't even know if they'll FIX it.

This is really tough.

So I got my PS3 back. Brand new unit.

Downloaded a bunch of games and played a couple hours of Resistance.

Then it started doing the same shit to me again.

This is a really sick joke.

I have a backwards compatible 80, and it doesn't get all that hot. A little warm, maybe. But never all -that- bad.
This thing isn't even that hot. I used to keep my old unit on for days wen Folding@home came out. Never got hot, never froze. Last year too, I'd leave it on for hours at a time. I'm not sure what's going on now, but the difference in the conditions I keep it in now compared to then aren't very different besides a different room.

Before it was in horizontal position on top of a wooden cabinet next to an open window with a nice breeze. Now this new unit is on a cardboard box on the ground next to the TV. It's not very hot in here at all. I had it running for about 15-20 minutes with the plastic wrap they had on it covering the fan, but I realized the error in my ways and quickly removed it, so maybe that's it?

While that was a fairly stupid move, I never played any games and so the system had no reason to become too hot. Even so, something like that never happened with the old console, so really, I don't get it.

Unless Sony just threw a new case on my old PS3 and sent it back.

Oh well, time to call up Sony AGAIN tomorrow to request another box. There goes my dreams of playing LittleBigPlanet on release day.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I tried it out for a little bit too. It's very nice, not exactly fun since I was alone. Hopefully, when more people I know get on it and they add more things it'll become more entertaining.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing it, I feel it has a lot of potential that hasn't been reached yet because of beta.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
