I'm not too sure about FNL. I've seen the commercials and heard the buzz about it, but I dunno if it will be terribly successful. To me it would feel like I'm watching the movie every week and that would just get boring. As for this new show Heroes, I also don't know if it will be successful as sci-fi shows usually don't do very well. I suppose looking at the success at LOST, it's worth a shot...if they do it right. As long as it's not just, every week somebody discovers they have powers and something bad happens. They need to make characters with depth. I havn't seen the pilot, hoping to sometime, but I am looking forward to seeing how most of the new shows are going to do. Supposedly the new CBS show Jericho was a snoozefest so that ones bound to bomb unless they change everything about it.

I really don't think the NFL will be a huge deal when it comes to winning ratings battles. NFL is big and will probably win ratings, but it will probably be a small margin. Considering it will be going up against The Amazing Race, Home Makeover, Desperate Housewives, Cold Case, AND Without a Trace...I don't think it will fare a huge margin. I don't think the new ABC show Brothers and Sisters will do very well Sundays. I'm a fan of romances/dramas/sci-fi, but I'm tired of these supposedly heart-wrenching dramas that ABC keeps trying. Maybe they'll do something right, but I think Without a Trace will win that battle.
Monday is going to be tough for Heroes to contend with. CBS has that line up of comedies and going immediately into CSI: Miami that they've always had. Plus throw in the Bachelor and the new fox show, Vanished and it will have tough competition...I think Heroes has a chance to actually get ratings and hopefully be around for a little bit. The odds of fox getting another show right is very, very, very slim. Tuesday will either be the night of House or Law and Order: SVU. Odds are House will dominate, but there are always Law and Order fans around. ABC once again tries their hands at comedies in that time slot...which are bound to fail. They havn't really had a successful comedy since TGIF was in it's prime. Wednesdays, like always, will be ABCs big night. Dancing with the Stars, LOST, and The Nine...I think this show is the only one that may have true protential for success, but going against a CSI is usually bad. CBS is putting Jericho against Dancing and either way...Jericho won't be on long. Thursdays is going to be a tossup between Grey's Anatomy and yet another CSI. I think Grey's could actually manage to do well, but I still think it should have stayed at Sunday. NBC is trying to get in the game too with Deal or No Deal. It's popular, but I don't think it will pull ratings like Grey's and CSI. The 9:00 slot looks crappy. I'm a huge fan of ER, but even I'll admit the ratings and the show has gotten sloppy. They still draw them, but not like they used to. ABC premieres Six degrees, which will probably fail, and Shark, maybe the another CBS show that might fail. Fridays look like total crap. The only things that will probably compete is Close to Home and Las Vegas. NBC might win that time slot, but CBS will win the rest of the night with Ghost Whisperer and NUMB3RS. And as usual...there is NOTHING on Saturdays. Usually football on ABC then some Disney movie or M. Night movie.... Anyway, this thread has turned into rating predictions, yay. But seriously, I think Heroes might be a good show. If they can make characters that are deep like LOST and not just make it a show about people with superpowers, I'll watch it. I really liked the episode, but I didn't like

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks thats a bad idea for a TV show.
I was speaking idiomatically.

I'm not an expert at observing the little clues, but is it possible that someone had the power to implant the vision of Peter being the bomb so he would obsess about it and eventually become the villian?
How ya doing, buddy?

It just seems so odd that he suddenly has a vision when no one around him had the power to have visions of the future. Isaac has the power to paint images of the future, but not have full motion visions of it. It just seems very fishy to me. Someone had to want to make Peter believe he was going to be evil and eventually accept it.

This has nothing to do with the theories of the show, but rather the weird Zach "ungay" controversy. It was brought up in this weeks Ask Ausiello and it's kind of strange.
http://www.afterelton.com/TV/2006/12/heroes.html Either NBC made Zach go back into the metaphorical closet, or the actor wanted his character to go back to straight. Either way, it's strange. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

LOL, there was basically some questions when people constantly made gay jokes about him on the show, which I kind of chalked up to today's high school environment. But people basically said, 'Ok, he is' when he said something like, "I know who and what I am and I'm happy with that. I don't care what other people think." Even though he didn't outwardly say it. I don't know what I really think. I just like the duo of Claire and Zach being her sidekick.

I totally agree with the whole side-character's/sidekicks. Claire and Zach are a pair and I loved to watch that whole story. Ando balances Hiro out from just being all "X-Men/Video Games/Anime" Hero all the time. If they take them away, that takes away a big part of the show for me.
It's like on Smallville. They've stupidly set themselves up by establishing the character of Chloe, who is basically Clark's best friend/confidante/sidekick, and brought in a very poorly interpreted version of Lois Lane who has little to no depth to her. So eventually they are going to have to kill or make Chloe leave and everyone loves Chloe, no one loves Lois. I think it's really important for a show like Heroes to show not only how the view of the people who have obtained powers, but also the normal people who interact with the heroes. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well that wasn't the point I was making, but Smallville hasn't fully lost touch with Clark's destiny considering the main goal for Clark right now is to send all the Phantoms he released from the Phantom Zone back and then begin his training to fulfill his destiny. And as for introducing people that don't matter in the long run....they've introduced Lois, though as tepid and shallow as she is right now, Jimmy Olsen, they introduced characters who will help form the Justice League (Even though Cyborg is in Smallville's version.). I was just bringing up Chloe because she's not in any of the comics or anything, but she's a loved character and it's not going to be the same without her.
Not to get off topic, since this is a Heroes forum. =P This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
