[Wii] Official Nintendo Wii thread

I'm still waiting for Audio. Some interview on IGN awhile back said the Wii would support Harddrives but they had no comment on if nintendo would make a HD. It seems it can store photos and video. Hopefully it supports some audio too.(Best part of the Xbox is custom Soundtracks). But I guess if it had it they would have said something eh?

Damn, no HD support right away? They still have said nothing about audio. I mean if it supports video.. it has to support audio right? Gah. I called Gamestop down the street and they still aren't taking reserves yet. I really don't want to wait outside some store on the 19th. Looks like they will get a call everyday until then..

Not sure if this was asked or not. But when the Nintendo Wi-Fi connector came out for the DS. It was also said it would work for the Wii. Anyone heard anything on this? I don't have a wireless connector but I have the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB transmitter. Hopefully it still works with the Wii as planned.

Yeah the PS3 pre-order is official. I just got the email from gamestop. Sadly nothing on the Wii. I read on another board that Friday will be the Wii pre-order. Who knows if thats true. Well it should be soon,hopefully.

Lukage, I hate you.lol I live in Wentzville,MO and could not find a damn Gamestop or EB around here that had any left. They said they all had people line up around 4:30. BS. Now I gotta wait in line if I want one on the 19th. Anyone know the best place to wait outside?

Meh, I heard walmart was pretty good at launches.(The one here in Wentzville. I mean who comes to Wentzville?) I'll be there at 9:00 O'clock on the 18th. Hopefully I will walk out with a wii.

Damn me and my lazyness. Well I guess all I can do is get my camping gear ready for the 18th. Now, I've never gotten a system at launch. I would hold out for xmas and get it as a gift.(save money). But I GOTTA have a Wii as soon as I can. My question is, at walmart (who are normally open 24/7) Do you wait outside? Or line up infront of the electronic department?

More hope for those of us who didn't pre order last week. Toys R Us is rumored to start pre orders on the 29th of oct. Who knows.

Yeah, gotta find out when they open so I can be there at least 2 hours before heh. It seems we get another "Free" game if you buy a Wiimote. Wiiplay another collection of minigames will be bundled with the Wiimote. Thats kinda cool.

^Yeah, I can't quite figure that one out yet.I'm getting TP and an Xtra Wiimote w/ Nunchuck. But I can't figure out my second game. Red Steel looks cool..but FPS's are typically easy to run threw on console. I'll rent it for sure but thats the problem. All the others seem like rents. Excite Truck is looking like #2 as of right now anyway.

Yeah, same here. I called the night before and they said they only had 10 Wii pre orders to give out. I asked if anyone lined up yet and the girl laughed said yeah there are like 10 people out there now. I asked if they knew how many were there for wii she said about 4 or 5. Now, of course I didn't believe a word she said. So I drove by and around 8 on sat there were already about 14 people out there. I still came by this moarning but it was even more crowded. I had no chance. So that ruined my day and the next 4 weeks. Looks like i'll be getting a Wii on 2nd shipment. I hope SOMEONE here got the pre-order they were set out to get from TRU..

Yeah I failed at preordering aswell. I'm trying to find a good time to go to wal-mart the day of. Originaly I was going to go at noon..but damned if 12-12 is just too damn long to sit in wal-mart. I'm split, I mean the Wii will be worth it. 12 hours? It will have to wait until the week of and I see what the store is doing.

Anyone know how that ticket system is suppose to work? I heard they hand out tickets and you can walk around the store until launch time. I'm thinking they call you buy the numbers on your tickets? Can you leave and come back at midnight?

Holy crap! They are insane if they are expecting people to pay 699 for a bundle. I was planning to be outside anyway. THe question is where? With a few people saying Wal-mart doesit Battle Royal style.. I don't want to wait there from 12 pm to 12am and then not get one cuz somone is faster then me.

I'm I'm still trying to figure out what time to be at Wal-mart. I mean at first I was thinking 12 pm. But thats crazy 12-12...uhh... I don't know if I want to waste my whole day off work..outside wal-mart. But then again I don't want ot arrive at like 7 and see 80 people outside. (or inside whatever). I am not sure if I buy into the seeker. I'll have to call BB and Wal-mart next week.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it being faulty. Did you see the way they brought the extra wiimotes in? For all we know those were the demo motes or something. They even made a comment about stepping on the ones in the back. So it does not seem like they took very good care of the wii-motes. The one that came with the Wii and the one we saw opened on screen worked fine.

The list can be 100 songs big; any more and the list will be cut off at a hundred. You can enable and disable the song tracks for the playlist."

..NICE! Now I have to go get a damn SD card! I was going to get star Fox DS to play while waiting in line..but looks like the 50 bucks will go to SD. You think it will use an IPOD the same way?(ala 360)

Takahashi, excellent point! I didn't stop to think about it before you said something. If I got the card.. how the hell am I going to put anything on it? I don't have a SD port. Ah well I'll wait later this week i'm sure they will test the USB ports on the back of the Wii. Hopefully it supports an external Harddrive. I have one waiting..

Walmart out here anyways is selling the Wii at Midnight. I went up there yesterday to get the details. Aparently they can't "officially" Have a line until 8pm. I looked at the guy like he was insane. But he quickly said that they are spineless and if we come in and start the line..they are just going to go with it. He said thats what happened last year. He also said they were only getting 20. Same with the Gamestop right next door. So I think that Seeker is wrong. All the same.. looks like i'm going to be in Wal Mart for 12 f'n hours heh. Good thing is it is INSIDE the building so weather means nothing.

Of course i'm going to call wensday and ask again to see if I get the same details and what not. The only thing i'm really worried is, will they let me plug my DS in to charge? The guy also said they might have a problem with me bringing a folding chair. Meh
