Friday Night Lights (TV)
So, at the beginning of a season filled with the supernatural, it seems like everyone's neglecting one of the down-to-earth series that debuted.
If you've seen the movie, you'll know where the season is coming from, but in some ways it's good to see them able to take their time, so that everything isn't compressed into the span of 2 hours. It may be that I have more of a connection to the show because I played high school football in Texas, and as first string center, I fractured my back a week before the first game of senior year, but if you enjoy football in general it's a good show to watch. Obviously it's been dramatized for TV, but the performances and the storyboarding for the episodes makes you believe that it could easily happen. Anyone else keeping up with this series? It's not a reality show. It's basically using the same ideas that the movie used, but in a modern day setting.
I think that's really the biggest threat to the show's success, is the people that have already seen the movie and think it doesn't bring anything new to the table. How ya doing, buddy? |
