[Classic] P-Wing vs Warp Whistle

(This will probably be one of many threads I create in an attempt to increase activity inspired by events at work.)

So at work, we've been randomly creating 'top 5' lists for various things. One of the recent lists was the topic 'Top 5 non-fps powerful items/weapons/whatever' and one of my co-workers put the P-Wing from SMB3, to which I argued that the warp whistle from the same game was much more powerful than the p-wing. His argument was in relation to being able to 'witness' levels while blowing through them, and also the ability to use them through world 8, in which a warp whistle would not allow you to bypass. He also felt that since you can't get them as easily as the warp whistles, that they should gain points in that aspect as well.

So I bring this to you, the Gamingforce group, which item from SMB3 should be flagged as superior. The predictable yet world jumping warp whistle, or the mysterious yet scenic P-Wing?
