From what I could understand, what you did was you disconnected your External CD-ROM drive, and put in your internal DVD-ROM drive, correct?
And now the problem is that every time you start up, the computer shuts down after 3-4 seconds? Jam it back in, in the dark. WALK WITH THE DREAMERS,

So the problem is that after you put a cd into the drive, it reads the cd, then turns off the computer?
Have you checked to see if the power supply may have gone bad, or if any of the connections have become loose? There's nowhere I can't reach. WALK WITH THE DREAMERS,
