God of War is pretty cool. I got it recently and have been trying to figure out what makes it great.
Really, it's nothing more than your standard button-mashing beat 'em up, but the game has so much polish to it that you can't help but appreciate it. Excellent soundtrack, great animations, and unlike most games of its genre (like Onimusha), the gameplay is smooth and virtually free of glitches. The game is just mindless killing, but it's just done so well.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
