Had a pretty good time tonight. Around 9 CST everyone was ready to go. of the I think 4-5 rounds we played our team won 2 of them. Not that I'm being suggestive or anything, but in both of those 2 rounds I was the commander >_>
(I mean seriously, I dont have for no reason >_>)Hope to see you all again next Friday or whenever your around in the middle of the week for a mock session ^_^ (Let's be honest, I just made this post because I wanted to see my new av/sig set in action) Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Actually they probably pushed it back to make it LOOK like they're working on it. Reality is the patch software just sits compiled and ready to go at any moment >_>
Monday through Friday i'm up for a game between the hours of ~8 PM to 11PM. I prefer to have GFF group events on Saturday though, where I'm home basically the entire day. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I dont have class till the afternoon on Friday, so I'm game for Thursday night as well (If anyone didn't get the hint with the bazillion times it's already been said in topic and with Lukages post, grab xfire please, http://www.xfire.com)
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Join me, the cult commander and his minions, and receive UNBOUNDED amounts of POWER.
Or you could not join and resist. Fair warning though, resisting can have negative consequences. ![]() I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
And I was awarded nothing :/
Ah well, I'm only about 16 gameplay hours away from getting a bunch of stuff ^_^ What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
FELIPE NO ![]() |
One problem though, Leeroy Jenkins didn't mind getting yelled at >_>
We have 3 people active on Xfire right now, were ready to begin so if you want to join in, by all means do ^_^ What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Solis is some sort of good luck charm or something.
The round he came in I got a shiny Veteran First Aid badge. Weeeeew. ![]() I have alot more awards that are bound to crop up in the next week or so. Alot of awards I've met all the qualifications for except total time played. Most awards will mature when I play for another 5 hours. So in the next two weeks I'm planning on obtaining: Rank: First Sergeant Badges: Expert Engineer Badge? (I may not have enough IAR repair points yet, time matures in ~2 hours though) Medals: Combat Infantry Medal: Need 4.5 more hours Navy Cross: Need 7.5 USMC playhours Ribbons: Legion of Merit Ribbon? (Need 4.5 more hours, not sure if I've gotten the required 50 Team Points IAR, shouldnt be to hard to get if not though) And with the promotion, I'll be getting the last gun that I hold interest in, the P90 Anti-Tank unlock. From my limited firing experiance in-game with it and my vast experiance in being shot by it, I think I'll fall in love with the thing and it will replace the DAO-12 as my love gun when obtained. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

Yep, just go to http://www.bf2s.com and do a search for your name. Near the bottom it lists them all with your progress towards each one.
There's also UBAR (http://ubar.bf2s.com/), which is a subsection of the same site that is specifically the requirements for stuff and nothing else. There are other sites as well, but I've never seen one that's as polished and factually complete as BF2S and UBAR. How ya doing, buddy? ![]()

The vets program made me laugh. "2142 will be greatly enchanced if returning soldiers already experianced particpiate." Something to the tune of that was on the Vets page, and I was like, "Well no duh, this is the exact same game with different models." Hey guys, if you buy our $50 mod, you get an icon next to you're name ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Time requirements are easy, just need to find the right server. I find going to 64 max player servers that only have about 10 people in there really nice. There's so little action going on that the game just drags on and on.

Woot, finally got it, the Combat Infantry Medal. Requires all the basic class medals plus 200 hours of gameplay total. This is my first REAL medal I've gotten (The stars and Purple Heart don't count >_>)

I only played one round, so maybe Im judging to soon, but honestly it confirmed what I orginally thought, just more of the same. I would buy it if it were say 20 dollars, about the price of an X-Pack, but $50? Don't kid yourselves EA. FELIPE NO ![]() |
One other thing I wanted to add about BF2142, is that I don't like how they've remodeled the various classes into just three. For whatever reason, the engineer now has anti-tank rockets. Assaultmen, you know, the guys leading the charge per say, now have control of med packs. That just seems a bit contradictory, that a guy who's supposed to be on the front line fighting also happens to have the responsibility of staying back and healing. I personally feel this will cause people to lose some desire towards healing people. Honestly, whats more fun shooting people or healing someone?
The Battlefield series has always been notorious for having no teamwork whatsoever when a large group of random people start playing together, true to any game really. BF2 made a nice first step by implementing the squad system, but it's not enough. I think 2142, with its arcady goals, has eliminated a bit of the edge towards teamwork that BF2 always lended itself to. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
The two classes (Engineer and Anti-Tank) could play effectly both defensive and offensive roles. It's simply a matter of skill. As an engineer, you have mines, which are obviously your defense, and defending things with a shotgun is super-effective. Offensively, you just change your attack strategy. Instead of rushing head on like an assault would, you strategically make your way towards the enemy using cover from rocks and such so that your shotgun becomes useful. If that fails and your forced into a long-range battle, you're equipped with 4 grenades, and a pistol. The pistol is actually quite effective so long as you can aim it, which if I can just about anyone should be able to. As for AT, it's basically the same thing. The default gun, the SMG, has poor power, but has more range if you fire in single shot mode as opposed to auto. Basically like firing a slightly souped up pistol. With AT you can generally charge in if theres only 2-3 people. As for long range, pull out your rockets. They call it Rocket Sniping, and it's the most fun and rewarding killing you can do. Aim your rockets, and fire away at the person aiming for you from the other side of the zone. Most of the time, you'll end up hitting and killing him before he can finish you off. AT obviously is also suited for Attack and Defense. I think most already know how I feel about snipers. They are overpowered and aren't punished in any way for being a waste of space on the team. There should be no way the sniper can climb up 5 flights of stairs on a crane, and booby trap the last 2 on the way up, it make's him next to invincible. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Sorry, I can't have folks playing down my love class (engineer) and not give it a fair defense >_> Erm anyways, mods like Battleracer don't generally get much support, so I usually avoid downloading them <_< There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Namely the Engineers repair gun looks alot like the link gun from UT2K4. I believe there were other similaritys I noticed, but thats the only one I remember off the top of my head.
In other news: Got my next, and what will probably be my last, promotion tonight. First Sergeant for the win. ![]() I forgot that since I have SF, I get 2 unlocks, which means I got the only 2 other guns that I even wanted, the MP-7 for engineers and the P-90 for Anti-Tank. All thats left to unlock is both snipers, which I honestly cant say I would pay 2 cents for. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]()

As for that note, the first line is hilarious
![]() Yah, I didn't think in-game advertising would be that bad if it: 1) Lowered the total cost of the software (It doesn't for 2142) 2) Blended in with the game enviorment (It doesn't for 2142) 3) You can destroy/defile the ad (You can't in 2142, or so it looks like from that picture) So great, EA has broken the 3 common rules everyone expects from having in-game ads. FU EA, FU. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Oh dear, it seems the hilarity just never stops.

Since I rarely ever play SF, I got all of my SF Basic Specialist medals, but that's about it. It was pretty fun tonight, though I think I honestly prefer vanilla BF2 to SF.

I don't see why you would. I can play Half Life 2 and CSS both on All High Settings and with all doodads turned on to their max. You're computer looks about the same as mine, so the problem is probably something software related. Are all of you're drivers updated? Have you ran a spyware and virus check recently?

What's odd is that if you ever played Battlefield 1942 Wake was an extremely fun map. The only difference now is that you have the commander stuff, and the role swap (American's used to defend the island, Japanese attacked) So I'm not really sure what caused the map to become so dull. I think it's mainly because the map seems bigger now. I can't remember specifically, but I think you had a few combat ships in 1942. That island for the artillery was never there either I don't think, so they were able to make the map smaller in 1942.
Edit: 1942 Wake ![]() Notice how closer the map is to everything. This made the job of the Japanese a bit easier. Also, that second ship is a destroyer. In 1942, you didn't have artillery per say. What you had was a guy in the destroyers gunner seat, and you had a Sniper class down on the ground somewhere. The Sniper would pull out his binoculars, and click on a target. This would radio in an artillery request. From there the gunner back on the ship could switch to spot mode and if he was any good at what he does line up a perfect shot to destroy the Sherman tank or whatever it was that was spotted from the ocean. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]()
