Anyway, my roommate got me Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC) for Christmas, so I was playing that obsessively until I decided to go to Gamestop. I got him his gift (Mario Kart DS, I couldn't believe he didn't have it) and picked up possibly the most addicting GBA game ever: ![]() Yggdra Union - We'll Never Fight Alone -. I remember seeing the art for this awhile back and thinking "Hey, that looks pretty neat." Then I realized it came out when I was broke, so I used a gift card to get it and holy crap. One of my favorite SRPGs now. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Thus far it's about rebuilding a kingdom overthrown by an evil empire, but I'm only about 5 hours in, so that could change. Nothing groundbreaking so far in terms of plot, but the gameplay itself is neat. It works differently than most SRPGs in that when you attack, and the view changes to the attack view, you don't control the characters in the battle directly, but you can control how they attack. They can hold back, building up a power bar, or attack aggressively, using that power bar.
The graphics, as far as GBA games go, are really nice. Characters are animated well, and skill/spell effects look awesome. The soundtrack is excellent, too. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
<If I had a decent camera, a picture would go here>
So recently I hung out at Wal-Mart for an hour for fantastic results! My most recent purchases are: Nintendo Wii - Finally got my hands on a Wii. My friends who went with me also got some for themselves. 512MB SD Card - Don't know why I got this, extra space I guess. I won't need to get one later. Super Swing Golf - I always loved the PC version, Albatross18, so I had to get this. There's quite a bit of slowdown (lol Shining Sands), and the AI is really inconsistant in their shots, but for multiplayer it's awesome. Elebits - After my friend told me about all the IIDX references, I had to get this. I'm really enjoying it, too. It feels like Katamari, except a FPS kind of Katamari. Very fun. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves - Ahahaha oh man. I've loved every Wario Ware game up to this point (Except Touched!, never got a chance to play it), and this is no exception. What a blast. The explanations for the forms are ![]() Now I just have to get a USB Wifi adapter so I can go online here in my dorm. How ya doing, buddy? ![]()

My copy of Ar Tonelico came in about a week ago and I binged on it all weekend. Now classes are catching up so I haven't had time to play recently, but what I have played (about 13 hours in) has been awesome.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I recently picked up Lumines Plus and Rogue Galaxy, having finished Ar Tonelico.
Rogue Galaxy is awesome. The fights are fun and challenging (Especially when enemies pop down in cramped spaces ;_; one attack can rape the whole party), and I've liked all of the characters so far. The music thus far isn't anything amazing, but it's not bad, either. I'm digging the voice acting, too. I was really disappointing with Lumines Plus, though. While the core Lumines gameplay is still there, there were two Skins removed: Shake Ya Body and I Feel the Music in My Soul. This is unfortunate because those two skins were my favorite skins in the original Lumines. By the time I got to level 115 I was getting suspicious, then googling confirmed my fears ;_; What a disappointing port. (Some of the new skins are kind of nice though) I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
English release of idolm@ster? lol?
Anyway, it's been awhile since I've posted in this, but I haven't bought too many things. I got Odin Sphere back when it came out and it's awesome, yadda yadda, beautiful, sprites, great voices, the works. All of my fanboying can be seen in the Odin Sphere thread. More recently, as in a week ago, I traded in my old XBox and some DS games (cuz lol R4) and cleaned out my bank to get an XBox 360 Premium bundle. With it I also got Forza 2, and just this week I picked up a second controller, Gears of War, and Chromehounds. I'm glad Chromehounds was only $20, since I doubt I'd pay more for it. It feels like a slower, clunkier MechWarrior. Gears of War, however, is excellent, amazing, etc.. I'm on Act 4 in the casual Campaign. I probably would've finished it off had Tails not invited me to play online. Forza 2 I'm also enjoying, despite how I was never really into racing sims before. Probably because I can play all the crappy eurobeat I want as I attempt to drift around corners and instead into walls. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
I picked up Call of Duty 4 last week, and the game's been proving to be extremely fun. Having never played any Call of Duty games before, and getting this based off of how insanely fun the MP Beta was, I think it was a great buy. I also went and took advantage of a deal at Best Buy and got Assassin's Creed for $40. Despite the AI being dumb as bricks (lol climbing walls in plain view of everyone "Is he crazy...? Oh well."), the game itself is incredibly fun. All of the open-ended exploration makes me think I'll be playing it for quite some time.
Next on my list is Burnout. FELIPE NO ![]() |
Oh man, look at that starburst ACTION on Wonderboy 3. You can tell just how ACTION-packed it's going to be.
Yesterday I got rid of a shit ton of games I hadn't played in years and picked up LittleBigPlanet on a whim, which is probably the most fun I've had with my PS3. It's charming, fun, and challenging, and also is one of the better looking titles on the platform. The soundtrack also caught me off-guard as being awesome. The first non-tutorial level features The Go! Team, though I can't find the Audio prize bubble for it anywhere. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
With some (extremely late) birthday money I picked up Left 4 Dead and a headset to go with it. RedOctane had a good Cyber Monday deal (what a dumb as hell name), so I also snagged a Guitar Hero 3 Bundle for $30. Looks like holding off on getting any current-gen Guitar Hero paid off.
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
One would hardly call that a recent game purchase.
I recently got Ar Tonelico 2 a couple days before street date, which was nice. I also finally bought Atelier Iris 3, completing my GUST collection because I am a faggot. I also re-bought Katamari Damacy and We <3 Katamari since I can't find my old copies anywhere. Only $30 for the two, which wasn't bad. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
That said, also getting Last Remnant when it comes out this week. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
You'll play Dark Cloud 2 and wonder why Level-5 is making shit like White Knight Chronicles instead of Dark Cloud 3.
As far as shit I've gotten since my last real post in this thing.

I went to Gamestop today with someone when he was picking up his Devil Summoner 2 pre-order and found they had a copy of Raiden Fighters Aces. This is odd, since I called them yesterday and they said they were sold out (and RFA doesn't seem like a title you'd get more than one shipment of).
Normally Gamestop lies out of their asses for things like pre-orders, but I guess it's extending to things in stock now, too. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
There was a demo out on the moonspeak PSN, you should grab that and appropriately cancel your pre-order.
Seriously. It's not good. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
In the recent Good Old Games 1 Year Anniversary sale I nabbed Descent 1, 2, 3, Freespace 1, 2, and all expansions for $12.
Needless to say, awesome deal. I was going to pick up MDK1 and 2 for another $12 but decided that the above games would be enough for awhile. FELIPE NO ![]() |
I picked up dat legend of gaylo: loldst today.
Hoping for more multiplayer hijinks of the same quality as Halo 3's. brb, entering combat and dying instantly. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
I made my major purchases for the season a few weeks ago and pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands on Steam. L4D2 will be a blast without a doubt, and I know no small number of people who are grabbing Borderlands, too, so the co-op in that should be hilarious.
Today I traded in a small pile of old crap to Gamestop and picked up Demon's Souls on a whim, and it's proving to be an awesome game, as well. The first couple of areas (sans the tutorial "boss") weren't too tough, but I'm sure as I dive into it this weekend I'll get my shit rocked repeatedly. Also having fun leaving misleading notes everywhere, and getting voted up for them. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Over the course of the steam weekend deals, I got quite a few. Knights of the Old Republic for $2.50, Ghostbusters and Trine for $10 each, Mirror's Edge for $5, and Section 8 for $25.
Not a bad haul. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
